Green Homes Summit 2014: Register for Early Bird Rate through July 11

Save some green by registering early for this year's Green Homes Summit! Early bird registration has been extended to July 11, 2014. Registration is $300, but can be reduced to $225. The Green Homes Summit is the region's foremost to promote the awareness and adoption of residential building and renovation practices leading to healthy, energy efficient, and environmentally responsible dwellings. At the Summit, participants will get the chance to learn about industry trends and best practices through educational sessions, gain insights from keynote speakers, network with industry professionals, and much more. Help Promote Great Outdoor Weekend--Become a Sponsor
Now in its 11th year, the Great Outdoor Weekend (Sept. 27 & 28) Great Outdoor Weekend - No Date has touched thousands of lives by providing families with outdoor adventures that are free, fun, and easy to access. Help us reach every person in the 9-county region around Greater Cincinnati by sponsoring Great Outdoor Weekend. This helps offset the costs to do outreach to the region and sustain the event for years to come. Every little bit helps--we have a variety of sponsorship levels that will appeal to everyone. To become a sponsor, simply fill out our online form here or download a hard copy and mail or fax it in to Green Umbrella.
Great Ohio River Swim Date Announced!
You can put away your paddles and grab your swim cap! The Great Ohio River Swim, sponsored by Green Umbrella, is scheduled for Sunday, September 28, 2014 at 8:00 am. Your swim registration fee will help support the Meet Me Outdoors website, which creates a one-stop website for all outdoor events for adults and children in the region. Register
for the annual event and jump back in the Ohio one more time! 
Creating Sustainable Communities Creates Speaker Series Starting July 26!
The former conference on Creating Sustainable Communities has created a speaker series that will kick off on Saturday, July 26 at Grailville at 9:00 am. This workshop will feature Diana Leafe Christian and focus on living in and creating sustainable urban communities. Diana is a leading expert in the drive to create communities that can make a difference. To register for the workshop, visit Imago and follow the link to the conference.

On July 19th, Cincy Summer Streets will open up the city's largest public space: our streets, and create a car-free space for everyone to play, run, walk, bike, skate, dance, create art, connect with their neighbors, and support local businesses. Check out the Facebook page!

Chad Edwards of emersion DESIGN on MPWN
Make Peace with Nature is a syndicated public affairs program dealing with solutions to problems of energy, conservation and the environment. It is produced at the studios of WKRC-TV and hosted by David F. Surber.   Today's edition features the efforts of Chad Edwards, principal of the Cincinnati architectural and design firm, Emersion Design, the first such Platinum LEED certified firm in the United States, and is also President of Green Umbrella.
