Land/Water Forum on April 4th
The 2014 Green Umbrella Land/Water Forum: Taking Root in the Riparian Zone is just around the corner on April 4th from 8:30am-5:00pm. Come out and learn about riparian planting and management best practices by land and watershed management professionals and tour a riparian zone site!

Cincinnati METRO Announces 1st Ticket Vending Machine
Metro's quest to make riding more convenient continues with the addition of its first ticket vending machine, installed at the Government Square information booth near the corner of 5th and Walnut Streets. Open to the public starting March 27th, the machine provides 24/7 access to Metro passes and stored-value cards.

Great Parks Taking Part in Taking Root
Recently, Great Parks of Hamilton County has pledged to support the Taking Root Campaign, which plans to plant two million trees by 2020, by planting 60,000 trees by 2016! Community involvement is needed to help Great Parks achieve this goal. Come out and join them on Saturday, April 5th for their first big tree planting event.

Green Your Caffeine at Panera is Back!
Running from April 15th-May 15th buy a reusable coffee mug at any regional Panera and part of the proceeds will go to Green Umbrella! More information to come!
Green Drinks Spring Social with U.S. Green Building Council, April 3rd
Join us on Thursday, April 3rd from 5:00pm-7:00pm at Lavomatic Cafe in OTR for a friendly evening of networking. Learn more about both environmental groups and their role in the region and enjoy appetizers and a cash bar on the rooftop patio.

Larry Falkin Revisits An Inconvenient
Truth March 30th
This Sunday, March 30th Director of the City of Cincinnati's Office of Environment and Sustainability, Larry Falkin, will present an update of Al Gore's Climate Reality Project presentation and discuss what it means locally. Larry spent 3 days with Al Gore this past summer and the Climate Reality Project receiving intense training for the presentation.

5,000 Oak Seedlings are Coming and Your Help is Needed-Come help the Ohio Valley Forestry Fellowship along with the Greater Cincinnati Federated Garden Club on Wednesday, March 26th from 7-9pm for a fun-filled evening as they individually bag 5,000 Shumard Oak seedlings for distribution to libraries and schools! Reforest the "Forest"-Help reforest Miami Whitewater Forest on April 12th by pitching in to get more than 1,200 trees planted, staked and protected!
