Green Energy Ohio
is a non-profit dedicated to promoting environmentally and economically sustainable energy polices and practices in Ohio. They act as a clearinghouse to inform Ohioans on sustainable energy. Every Oct., they have the Ohio Solar Tour, and this week, Monday, Oct. 1 - Sunday, Oct. 7, they are hosting their Green Energy Ohio Tour. It is a FREE statewide event that provides people with the opportunity to visit and talk with home and business owners who are living and working with clean energy technologies. Mt. Airy Forest Festival
On Sat, Oct. 13, from 11:00 am - 5:00 pm, join Cincinnati Parks for the Mt. Airy Forest Festival. There will be historical, pioneer reenactments, crafts, local products and food from vendors, outdoor skills and demos, and bird of prey shows. Donations are requested.

Saving Rain for a Sunny Day - an Ohio River Valley Rain Barrel Painting Event
The Regional Storm Water Collaborative in partnership with Cincinnati Zoo and Botanical Gardens is inviting artists to paint rain barrels for this contest to raise awareness regarding water conservation. The rain barrels will be showcased at a high profile art gala. Artist applications are due Dec. 3rd.

3E Summit
Who doesn't want more money and help conserve resources all at the same time? Register for and come to the Energy, Economic, and Environment (3E) Summit on Friday, Oct 5, from 8:00 am - 4:00 pm at the Cintas Center! Learn how to be green and save money from local businesses. Green Umbrella members can register for half price! This event is hosted by the City of Cincinnati,  Xavier University's Brueggeman Center for Dialog, the Greater Cincinnati Green Business Council, and the USGBC Cincinnati Chapter, and Green Umbrella. Four Can't Miss Forums
State of the City Environment Forum: Hosted by the Cincinnati Green Group, this forum will show the progress that Cincinnati has made toward becoming a cleaner, greener, and smarter city. The Mayor, city council, and the Office of the Environmental Quality will be there to answer your questions. Additionally, there will be a national expert on how cities are moving toward zero waste. Come to Northside Tavern on Wed, Oct 10, from 6:00 - 8:00 pm.

Public Hearings on the Lower Mill Creek Partial Remedy: Want a say in the recommended solution for the Mill Creek that will be submitted to the USEPA, OH EPA, and ORSANCO? Then come to the Hamilton Co. Board of Commissioners public hearings and give your thoughts and feedback. The hearings will be held Wed, Oct. 3 at 11:30 am and Wed, Oct 10, at 11:30 am at the Commission Chambers at 138 E. Court St, Room 605. Another hearing will be on Oct 8, at 5:30 pm at the MSD Administration Building.

Candidates Forum: The Center for Great Neighborhoods is hosting a "Meet the Candidates for City Commission Night" on Wed, Oct 3, from 6:00 - 8:00 pm. Doors open at 5:00 pm. Come learn about the issues and the people before voting!



Mill Creek Watershed Community Symposium: The Mill Creek Watershed Council of Communities is interested in hearing your thoughts, opinions, and needs regarding the Mill Creek. This symposium is for the communities in the Upper Mill Creek Watershed, and it will be held on Thurs, Oct. 4, from 10:00 am - 12:00 pm.

Hamilton County Recycling and Solid Waste District is encouraging the Hamilton County residents to recycle! Recycling is easy and one thing that we can all do! Additionally, recycling creates jobs, conserves resources, and keeps material out of landfills. To learn more about their campaign, click here.
