WELCOME HASSE LEONARD-PAGEL, PHD, NEW DIRECTOR OF CLINICAL PROGRAMS
Dear Friends and Colleagues,
I'm very pleased to announce that Hasse Leonard-Pagel, PhD has joined Ann Martin Center as our new Director of Clinical Programs, effective March 16, 2016.
This is a watershed event in the history of Ann Martin Center.
Dr. Leonard-Pagel has a strong background in clinical management with prior administrative experience as a training director, outpatient program director, and executive director at (respectively) A Better Way, West Coast Children's Center, and the Psychological Services Center at Alliant International University.
Dr. Leonard-Pagel has demonstrated a longstanding commitment to community-based mental health and children's services. Her range and depth of clinical skills and organizational knowledge will be instrumental in guiding the Clinical Program in the coming years.
Stay tuned for a more in-depth story on Hasse after she's had a few months to settle in and learn the lay of the land at Ann Martin Center.
We face endless challenges balancing excellence and health equity in the context of a teaching clinic. I am excited that Hasse will be integral to a new chapter for our work serving children and families in the community.
With best regards,
David S. Theis, DMH

BOARD SPOTLIGHT: WELCOME CATHERINE REINING
Catherine Reining joined the Ann Martin Center Board of Directors as its newest member in February 2016. We are excited to welcome her as she shares about her decision to join the Ann Martin Center Board: "After many years of threatening to move to San Francisco, I finally made the move approximately four and half years ago, from New England, with only one regret - why had I waited so long. My professional background consists of management consulting, compliance and complex IT program management. I have advised leaders of major corporations in the areas of marketing, finance and operations to improve their businesses via process and technology improvements. After more than 20 years, mostly spent on the road, I decided to take a break from work and immerse myself in the many bay area activities and get more involved and acquainted with local organizations. Ironically, I was looking for opportunities to volunteer in the city when I was invited to attend the gala for the Ann Martin Center last year. I was so moved by what I heard that I inquired how I could contribute. I have siblings that have benefited from the services offered by the center and I am honored to serve on the board to ensure the availability continues for those in need.
For the past year I have taken on special projects and pursued my recreational interests including; wine education (and imbibing), hiking, skiing, SCUBA diving and sailing. I realize I am not the first competitive sailor on the board, however, I can be found in the bay and not in the middle of the Pacific. I have enjoyed learning more about the center, the operations and specific services. I am so impressed with the history of the center and its commitment to the community."
