Dear Friends,
We're pleased to invite you to an evening of appetizers, wine and conversation on Thursday, November 8th from 6:00-8:00 pm at Cerruti Cellars in Jack London Square, Oakland. Jim and Bonnie Bell, long-time donors and friends of Ann Martin Center, have graciously offered to present a slideshow on their recent travels to Bhutan. (The country, as you may know, is right at the top of the Gross National Happiness Index!)

And now for some exciting news...
Ann Martin Center is moving! After a challenging search over the past three years, we've found an amazing new location that feels like our destiny. We've outgrown operations at our three buildings and a strategic planning process concluded that a relocation was an absolute necessity. The new facility is in Emeryville on a peaceful side street (not far from Pixar) with access to public transportation including BART via the Emery-Go-Round. The building is 15,000 square feet and will finally allow us to fulfill many dreams such as a full-fledged auditorium and a drop-in homework club. Formerly, this site was the "Pickleworks" factory from 1920 with a whimsical brick facade. Inside, however, it's completely modernized, seismically reinforced, and wired with fiber optics. This month, we signed a ten year lease with a ten year option for our new home. We have a new logo! A special thanks to Bruce Willardson and his team at Clorox Creative Services for their incredible work on our new brand mark for Ann Martin Center. After extensive staff and board input, we arrived at this new design that we think captures the spirit of hope and learning at Ann Martin Center. Please stay tuned as we freshen up our look!
Results from our client survey! Ann Martin Center recently conducted a client satisfaction survey for the purpose of gathering client feedback and assessing outcomes for school-based and clinical services. Quantitative and qualitative measures were used to to obtain parents' views on the overall quality of treatment and effectiveness of psychotherapy and educational therapy, as well as psychological and educational assessments. Most significant to highlight are the following results: - Overall, 91% of families agreed or strongly agreed they were satisfied with the quality of care provided.
- 91% of families agreed or strongly agreed they would recommend the Center to friends and family who need help.
- 98% of families agreed or strongly agreed they felt treated with respect by staff at Ann Martin Center.
With the help of partners like you, we can continue to provide the highest quality of care for underserved children in our community. Our psychotherapy and educational therapy services strengthen a child's ability to engage in school, gain coping skills, develop caring friendships, and make healthy choices. On behalf of our Board of Directors and staff, thank you for helping children in our community to live happier, healthier lives. As we near the holiday season, we're deeply thankful for the gifts you have given us -- in time, talent and treasure.
We look forward to celebrating our 50th Anniversary with you next year, and an even bigger, brighter future ahead.
Sincerely,

David S. Theis, DMH Executive Director |
