Cook to lead panel at national Smart Cities Week
September 27-29
Washington D.C.
Program Director Meghan Cook is convening a panel of international experts to discuss leveraging sensor data at the 2nd Annual Smart Cities week, an event hosted by the Smart Cities Council and supported by the White House. Sensor technology can be thought of as a city's nervous system, capturing voluntary and involuntary messages and communicating them with different parts of the city. However, it is only transformative when a city has the capacity to leverage the data. Meghan's session, which will allow for candid conversation and brainstorming, will present insights from leaders across the globe who have successfully developed the organizational, technical, policy, and human capabilities needed to collect, maintain, and leverage sensor data.

Happy September!
With another busy summer coming to a close, the CTG team looks forward to an even busier September and a productive fall. As you'll see below, we have a number of exciting things happening - several projects continue as we find innovative solutions for our government partners, our calendar is full of trips to present about our work and convene workshops, and our research agenda is filled with exciting new opportunities. And, while we were sad to say "see you later" to some of our international visiting scholars and student interns as their terms at CTG came to a close, we are pleased to welcome some new faces to our team!
Wishing you a happy and productive Fall!
Sincerely,
