We encourage you to provide us with all of your tax information as soon as it is available to expedite the filing process. Also, the IRS requires all Form 1040 and 1041's to be e-filed. Please remember to return your signed Form 8879 to us at your earliest convenience (either via mail, email, fax or in person) so that we may file your tax return with the IRS. Health Insurance Reimbursements: Employee Payment Plans Effective on January 1, 2014, all employers reimbursing employees or directly paying for health insurance premiums from non-employer third-party plans must treat such payments as employee wages and be subject to the related employment taxes. Employers that fail to comply with this provision of the Affordable Care Act will be subject to an excise tax under Sec. 4980D, which is $100 per day per affected participant. We suggest that any such tax-free employee plans be immediately amended. Please contact us if you have any further questions.
