Open House is the perfect opportunity to explore CAMP ALAFLO and discover why participating in camp programs is so important for your scout. We invite you to join us for this FREE event that offers families a taste of what our scout camps are all about. We will have activities and fun for all ages.

We will have lunch and snack available for purchase.

Let's go camping at Alaflo and have lots of fun!!

Enjoy games, crafts, B.B guns, archery, fishing, hiking and much, much more. We will provide Saturday supper and Sunday breakfast.

You need to bring: tent, sleeping bag, flashlight, and sack lunch for Saturday. also, personal drinks and snacks. If you plan on fishing, you need to bring your own fishing equipment.

Event Cost: $25 for a Cub Scout and one parent, $10 for an additional Cub Scout, and $5 for each additional family member (to cover their food and insurance).

This is our first Halloween event at Alaflo. We will have hay rides, haunted house, costume contest, activities and games, and much more! Come out for a few hours or spend the night, if you dare...

Event Cost is $10 each for non-campers and $15 each for campers. 
Webelos Weekend

First year Webelos will have the opportunity to earn 2 of the 5 required Adventure Pins and 1 of the 2 required electives.

If scout does not need all of the offered requirements, he will have free time, fishing will be allowed in Essayons Lake. You must bring your own pole & bait and be accompanied by an adult. Please be aware of your next scheduled activity.

Second year Webelos attending BSA 101 will be assigned to a patrol and will be camping with two or more Boy Scouts from local troops serving as patrol leaders which will be teaching Basic Camping skills "BSA 101".

Event Cost is $25 for Scout and 1 adult.

A DAY OF SHOOTING GALORE! - Everyone Invited!

We would like to invite all Cub Scouts, as well as their families and friends out to beautiful CAMP ALAFLO for an exciting day packed with shooting sports fun!! This is the perfect opportunity to get in some time on the range with BB guns, archery, slingshots, etc.

Parents and leaders are invited to participate with their Scouts and join the fun! Bring a friend to show them how awesome being a Cub Scout really is!! If they signup for scouts, you will earn a recruiter patch. Lunch is included in the cost of the event.

Don't miss this fun filled Winter Shooting Experience!

Merit Badge University

Troy University and the Alabama-Florida Council will hold the sixth-annual Merit Badge University on the Troy University campus in Troy, Alabama.  Check-in and the opening ceremony will be in Sartain Hall, with check -in scheduled for 8:00 a.m. and the opening ceremony scheduled for 8:30 a.m. Classes will begin at 9:00 a.m.

Scouts will have 23 merit badge classes from which to choose, along with the Discover Scuba/Scuba BSA class. New merit badge classes for this MBU include: Animation; Indian Lore; and Signs, Signals, and Codes.  Adult leader training will include Scoutmaster Leader Specific Training, CPR/AED training, and Fundamentals of Training.

This year, the Merit Badge University coincides with the Ma-Chis Lower Creek Tribe's Annual Festival and Native American Pow Wow. The Ma-Chis tribe has invited all Scouts and Scouters to attend and participate in the Pow Wow. This is a great activity for the Scouts once those merit badge classes are done.

Registration is now open on Camp-Master (alabamaflorida.camp-master.com) through October 11, 2015. 

The registration fee is $40 for youth and $25 for adults. This fee includes lunch in the Troy University dining hall, an MBU t-shirt, an event patch, and standard program materials. (Discover Scuba/Scuba BSA and CPR/AED training require additional fees.)

Join us at Alaflo for Survival Scout 3!

Test your survival skills! Can you survive the weekend?

Bring your best 1 gallon ziplock bag survival kit.  Everything must fit in your ziplock bag or in your pockets.

You must also have a sleeping bag and water bottle.  Survival type meals will be provided.

Complete the weekend and earn the Wilderness Survival Merit Badge.

Event Cost is $25 each.

 
Outdoor Leader Weekend

Come out to Alaflo and enjoy some fellowship time with other adult leaders, while getting your outdoor leader training as well! We will be offering BALOO, OWL, and IOLS Training!

BALOO and/or OWLT are REQUIRED TRAINING for all Packs that would like to do Overnight Camping as part of their pack activities. At least one leader of the activity must be BALOO Trained (OWLT for Webelos dens) in order for it to be an authorized Scouting activity.

IOLS is REQUIRED TRAINING for Boy Scout, Varsity or Venturing Leaders to be considered trained and eligible to wear the TRAINED Strip.

Event Cost:
BALOO - $10 each
OWL - $25 each
IOLST - $25 each 
Philmont Contingent Trip 2016

Now is your chance to experience Philmont, one of the premier High Adventure Scout Camps!!

Join our 2016 Philmont Contingent!! We have 12 slots available, 9 youth and 3 adults.

We are still taking applications for contingent leaders. We would like to have a leader selected by October 31, 2015.

2017 National Scout Jamboree

Event date is July 19-28, 2017

Experience the Scouting opportunity of a lifetime at the 2017 National Scout Jamboree! This is truly one of the greatest scout events that you will attend. Meet other scouters from across the Nation and enjoy tons of activities and fun!!

We are currently accepting applications for contingent leadership. Please turn in applications by October 31, 2015 to be considered. The committee will make final selections by December 31, 2015.
