Fall Program Program Preview

To ALL Scouting Leaders:

We hope you have been having a fun filled summer. 

The Menawa District Committee has been working hard and planning for a fun fall.  Akela Cub campouts, Cub Leader Trainings, Fall Camporee, Scouting University, Popcorn Sale and School Nights.

This year's meeting, at Camp Alaflo,  will be a Potluck Dinner.  Please encourage all of your unit's leaders to attend and bring a dish.  We will be passing out information on all the upcoming activities.

Please RSVP to the Scout Service Center at 334.797.6823 by Monday, July 27, to let us know how many will be attending and what you will be bringing from your unit. Fried chicken, drinks and dessert will be provided. Also, we want to make sure we have enough hand outs for everyone.

National Youth Leadership Training (NYLT) is a six-day outdoor training course designed for senior youth leaders in the Boy Scouting or the Venturing programs. NYLT builds upon the training received from the Introduction to Leadership Skills for Troops or the Introduction to Leadership Skills for Crews courses and focuses on the skills needed to prepare Scouts and Ventures to become better leaders.

Registration Fees: $175.00.

NO Registrations will be accepted after June 15, 2015.

Our Annual College of Commissioner Science is set.

 Registration packets will be available the week of June 24, 2015. We strongly encourage all of our commissioners to attend to learn more about the New Commissioner tools and unit evaluation system. Lunch is provided to all who attend.

Philmont Contingent Trip 2015
News!

As of now there are three youth participant slots available for our 2015 Trek which is from June 27, through July 9, 2015 (plus appropriate travel days).

We would like to fill these slots as to provide as many youth as possible to experience this unforgettable adventure.

"ArrowTour" USS Alabama

Boy Scout of America National Order of the Arrow event: "ArrowTour" is coming to the USS Alabama in Mobile!

Who? All members of the Boy Scouts of America are invited to attend, along with their family members (Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, Venturers & Explorers!)

What is ArrowTour? The Order of the Arrow, which is the National Honor Society of the BSA, is celebrating its 100th Anniversary in 2015. ArrowTour is one of the many National programs and initiatives that comprise a year-long celebration of the Order's Centennial. It will provide opportunities to reflect, connect, and discover the Order's Centuries of Service, both past and future. You can find more information about ArrowTour at http://arrowtour.oa-bsa.org/

When? The program will begin at 2:00 p.m. and will end at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 11, 2015. Come anytime during this timeframe!
There will be no fee to attend this event, except for parking, which will be $2 per vehicle.
