Harold and Teresa Turner will host refreshments to welcome Joe, so don't miss this opportunity. We will also offer Den Leader Training for all the new leaders.

Fall Boy Scout Camporee

The camporee will be hosted by Troop 77 and the theme 'Mega Sports Challenge' will include the following Team Events: soccer, human foosball, 3 on 3 basketball, kickball, gaga and a challenge course. Individual Events: orienteering, rifle, shotgun and archery. Cost is only $7.00 each. Webelos II (5th grade) are invited to participate with a host Boy Scout Troop. Campsite priority will be given to troops with adopted campsites, but must register by September 19 to hold the site. The school year has just started. You know what that means--School Night signups, popcorn sale and most importantly our Akela Cub Campouts. The dates and locations are set for this year's Campouts. The theme for this year is Wild West.
We are offering games, crafts, BB guns, archery, fishing, races and some surprise special guests. We will provide Saturday supper.
You need to bring a tent, sleeping bag, flashlight, and a sack lunch for Saturday. If you need camping equipment, contact the Council Service Center at 334.793.7882. Check-in will be from 9:00 to 11:30 a.m.
The Cost is $25.00 for a Cub Scout and one Parent, $10.00 for an additional Cub Scout, and $5.00 for each additional family member (to cover their food and insurance).
You are welcome to attend any and all of the Campouts. You are not limited to just your district's campout.

Open House is the perfect opportunity for Cubs and prospective new Cubs to explore Camp Alaflo, plus discover why camp is so important for boys. Join us for this FREE event that offers families a taste of what Scout camp is all about, plus help them prepare them for Akela Cubs!
Check in is from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. Program is from 9 a.m. to noon. Lunch will be available for purchase at the Camp Trading Post, which helps offset the cost of this event. Pre-registration is not required. More information available at the council website news page at www.bsa3.org/pages/news.html

It's training time--Now that you have stepped forward and become a leader, get really trained on how to do "the stuff". From a den meeting to pack functions to out in the woods, you can never get enough training.
If you are new, changing levels or leader positions, never really got trained before, or just want a refresher, come out and join me and your fellow leaders for an enjoyable time of learning and fellowship. I look forward to seeing each of you there!! The Menawa District has set the Cub Leader trainings sessions.
All the trainings will begin at 9:00 a.m. and conclude before noon.
If you can not attend, please let us know so we can arrange a date for another training session. Every Scout deserves a Trained Leader.
