Cubmobile Race
Saturday, April 12, 2014
Chipola College
3094 Indian Circle
Marianna, FL 32446
One of the long-lost traditions in Cub Scouting is the construction and use of a Cubmobile. What's a Cubmobile? Why, it's good, clean, Cub Scout-powered fun on wheels!

Most boys love playing with cars. In Cub Scouting, the pinewood derby lets boys scratch their automotive itch, but it's not the only option for racing fun. Many packs find that Cubmobile races offer a low-stress, high-octane twist to the traditional derby. Like pinewood derby cars, Cubmobiles rely on gravity for propulsion. But unlike those pint-size racers, Cubmobiles are big enough for your Cub Scouts to drive!

The Council Annual Cubmobile Race is one of the best keep secrets in the council! Your pack can build their own Cubmobile and race on the hill of Chipola College in the council event. Every Cub in the pack gets to race! To get a better idea of the fun, watch this two minute YouTube video youtu.be/HS73iXzH2Oc

Registration form, "How to Build" and rules are available on the council website at www.bsa3.org/newsarticles/cubmobiles.html.

Council/District Structure Change
News
We are pleased to inform you of an organizational structure change that will better position our council for achieving the vision, "We make real Scouts".  The executive board has approved adding a program director position to our staff structure and realigning our districts.  The key objective of this change is to drive youth retention through innovative program delivery and unit service.

Adding this position and realigning our districts will result in: 1) a coordinated council program delivery, 2) innovative retention initiatives, and 3) greater ability to provide direct unit service to packs, troops and crews.

Learn more about the program mission, district/county alignment, district committee positions, district names and staff assignments on the council website at bsa3.org/newsarticles/structurechange.html.
