Unit Rechartering and Youth Protection Training
| YPT Required By Unit Rechartering Time
|
National BSA requires all leaders to complete Youth Protection Training (YPT) and renew the training ever two years. Leaders must be YPT compliant at the time their unit recharters to be "active" and eligible to serve in a unit leadership role. When a unit completes the online recharter process, a report is generated listing any leaders who are not YPT complaint. These leaders are not considered "active" and will not be issued a BSA Registration Card. These leaders must complete YPT before continuing in a leadership role and must submit a copy of their YPT Certificate to the Council Service Center to receive their BSA Registration Card. Are all the leaders in your unit YPT compliant? Each registered leader can look up their training status at the MyScouting.org site using the MyScouting Tools Training Manager. Cubmasters, Scoutmasters, Committee Chairs and COR's can access a list of leaders for their unit through the same website. If you have any questions, please contact your District Training Chair, District/Unit Commissioner, Council Service Center or email bsaypt@gmail.com.
