Operating Budget Forum
The Board of Education will approve its proposed FY 2014 operating budget on Monday, February 25. The Operating Budget includes funding for instructional programs, salaries, professional development, transportation, and school maintenance.
The next evening, on Tuesday, February 26, MCCPTA will host our annual forum at which members of the Board of Education, Superintendent Joshua P. Starr, and members of the Montgomery County Council will join us at the Carver Educational Services Center to answer audience questions about the proposed school system budget. County Executive Ike Leggett is unable to attend.
This is YOUR chance to ask our elected officials and our superintendent questions about the budget that will drive student achievement during the coming year.

Our Membership Challenge: Does Your Unit Measure Up?
MCCPTA challenges all local PTAs and PTSAs to work in the next two months to grow their membership at least to the level they reached during the past school year. Over 70 PT(S)As have met the challenge, but that means we have over 100 who need to take the challenge to win!
Win what? Thanks to the generous support of Silver Diner, we have $250 in Silver Diner gift cards to award a unit in good standing that matches or beats its membership total from last year. CLICK HERE for all contest rules and details.

National PTA Reflections
MCCPTA will soon be announcing the 2012-2013 Reflections entries that won county honors and those that were sent to the Maryland state level. A sincere thank you to the thirty-three schools, their hundreds of student participants, and their devoted Relections program chairs and committee workers who shepherded the amazing, creative entries of our talented students.
Mark your calendars for Saturday, March 16, when we will showcase their work at our MCCPTA Reflections Showcase and Celebration at Clarksburg High School.

MCCPTA Sponsors Needed!
Our Presidents and Principals Dinner is just three months away. To ensure that every PT(S)A leader and their principal can attend, MCCPTA annually looks for individuals, non-profit organizations, and businesses to support our work--and provide seats for worthy PTA and school leaders--through sponsorship of MCCPTA and this event.
Your help in finding sponsors would be sincerely appreciated. Sponsorship has many benefits including an invitation to participate in our April Vendors' Showcase; that and more benefits can be found together with forms and details at our MCCPTA website, or by CLICKING HERE.
