Dear Class of 2017 Students,
 
Since we are the first class to graduate from the new building, I thought it would be meaningful if we, as a class, make a donation to the new BASIS school. Currently, we are running a campaign to collect $1000, and in return for our donation BASIS will put a brick in the new school that will read "Class of 2017." Ideally, we would have each student donate $15 - $20 to meet our goal, and so far we have collected $530. If we fail to reach our goal, I promise to return everybody's money, and students can pay either in cash (which they can give to me at school), or online at www.gofundme.com/brick2017. So far, we have had 27 students participate (about a third of the class), and we could really use your support for this project. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.

Next Week:

April 12:  Gateway to Bell Pass - difficult
7:20 am meet to carpool*; 8:00 am meet at the trailhead
This there-and-back 7 mile (total) trail is relatively easy most of the way until the steep and difficult climb to the pass. Elevation gain is 1,400 ft. Don't bring small dogs. The steep section is quite rocky.

April 14 - Tom's Thumb - difficult
7:20 am meet to carpool*; 8:10 am meet at the trailhead
We're going back to Tom's Thumb one more time this season - because we LOVE it so much!! This is another challenging, 5.6 mile, 1,132 ft elevation gain, approximately 3 hr hike. The area is very scenic!

The school is in need of supplies! We are grateful for all the donations so far this year, but as you know we're in the middle of cold and flu season. Thus we could use your help stocking the school with supplies such as Kleenex, disinfecting wipes, paper towels and hand sanitizer. (We use the disinfecting wipes to clean door knobs, tables, and light switches to minimize illness). Below are a few Amazon links for the needed supplies. Remember to have your student show school pride by wearing a BASIS shirt on Fridays for "Spirit Friday."   On some Fridays, Boosters provides a special treat for students wearing any BASIS t-shirt.  The student must wear any BASIS shirt to receive a treat.
