WELCOME BACK, BASIS FAMILIES!

Dear BASIS Scottsdale Families,
We, the current BASIS Scottsdale Boosters Board, would like to welcome back all of our returning families and extend a very heartfelt welcome to our new families. BASIS Scottsdale is ranked #1 in Arizona and is highly ranked nationally, so we lead with much pride within our school community.
Our school is #1 due to the hard work and dedication of our teachers, staff, students and school families. The Boosters provides many of the resources that enable our school to continue to outperform others in the state. We assist with teacher AP training, provide classroom materials, purchase teacher wishlist items, along with funding for competition travel, fees, and other expenses.
The Boosters also provides funds to foster a sense of community and spirit in our school. We organize social functions for both students and parents, such as the carnival and spirit Fridays. We assist with senior projects and graduation. One of the most important aspects of Boosters is Teacher Appreciation, which includes monthly breakfasts, lunches, a holiday bonus, and the year-end Teacher Appreciation week.
Finally, students are able to receive a hot lunch at school through our lunch program. This service is provided daily and runs smoothly due to the dedication of 5 co-chairs and over 60 parent volunteers. Our lunch team has worked very hard to meet the needs of families by including a variety of choices, including organic and vegetarian selections, along with pricing options.
Please consider joining BASIS Scottsdale Boosters. 100% of our funds support 100% of our teachers and students. When you support the Boosters, you are supporting all of our hard-working students, dedicated teachers and staff.

Featured Speaker: Peter Bezanson, CEO of BASIS.ed
Please join us at this Welcome Back Event. The presentation by Dr. Peter Bezanson, CEO BASIS.ed, will begin promptly at 9:15 am in the gym, with Q & A session to follow. Dr Bezanson will be discussing the future of BASIS Scottsdale. Following the presentation, please join us in the Upper School Cafeteria, where you will have the opportunity to join the Boosters, purchase BASIS spirit wear, pick up the BASIS shirts that are included with your Boosters family membership, and sign up to volunteer. BASIS Scottsdale would like us to remind you to use their parking lot OR the overflow parking lot further north on 136th Street, just north of the bank building (where the Basha's used to be). Do not park directly across the street - the private businesses will call tow trucks.

Boosters does a lot to support our students, teachers and staff, and that requires funding. 100% of your membership fee benefits BASIS Scottsdale School. Boosters sponsors social events, parent mixers, the school carnival, and other similar community-building activities. Boosters also provides hospitality for the school's college representative visits, financial support for the school's graduation ceremony and senior project books, funds for classroom supplies, assistance with funding for AP certification courses for teacher training, funding for athletics equipment and arts program supplies, among many other school needs.

We are looking for volunteers to contribute food and drinks to make the teachers and staff feel loved and valued.
