Read a Summary of Our New 5-year Strategic Plan
The Early Childhood Investment Corporation's staff and Executive Committee spent six months working together with the guidance of a an excellent consultant on our five-year strategic plan.  We had a remarkable level of board member engagement which included them meeting four times to think and talk about the plan.  Staff had two all staff working meetings and gave our leadership team ongoing feedback. Additionally, staff have been engaged in a process of evaluating and recreating our organization's culture - focusing on both how we work internally and with our partners.  You can read a summary of our plan here

 

  
ECIC Presenting at Several Conferences in October
The month of October is filled with opportunities to see and hear ECIC staff in action.  On October 10, staff will be presenting at the HighScope Educational Research Foundation's 3rd Annual Conference for Early Childhood Research and Evaluation in Ypsilanti.  On October 11 and 14, members of our team will be presenting at the National Black Child Development Institute's 44th Annual Conference in Detroit. On October 13 staff will present at the Council of Michigan Foundation's 42nd Annual Conference in Traverse City. Find out all the details of session topics, dates and times here

  
Michigan's 2015 Budget: A Snapshot of Programs Relating to Early Childhood 
The 2015 fiscal year started October 1, 2014. To learn about some of the major changes in the 2015 budget, see our two new infographics. One focuses on issues relating to health, early childhood education, and assistance programs. The other focuses on changes to subsidized child care.
