Professional Development Day

Our first PD Day of the year is on Friday, September 19. Dismissal is at Noon for all students. Please note: on early dismissal days, there will be no out of school care offered. All students must be picked up on time.  Thank you!

Establishment Meeting For School Council
The Establishment Meeting for School Council will take place on Tuesday, September 23 @ 7:00pm in the Athlone Hall Auditorium. To review the School Council Overview and Roles & Responsibilities, please visit our website HERE.
Rescheduled Curriculum & Parent Information Night 
The Curriculum & Parent Information Night has been rescheduled to Tuesday, September 16 from 7:00pm to 9:00pm in the Athlone Hall Auditorium.  The focus of this
evening will be on curriculum and assessment for each grade level as well as important school  information relevant to new and returning families. All families are strongly encouraged to attend.

The Magic School Bus

Police Information Check For Parent Volunteers
Any parent wishing to volunteer (including volunteer drivers) during the 2014-2015 school year must have had a Police Information Check (PIC)  with Vulnerable Sector Search in the last year. If you did not complete the PIC last school year, you may do so this school year. The deadline to submit your forms is Wednesday, September 17. If you do not submit your PIC by this date, you will not be permitted to volunteer this year. For more information and to download the form, please click HERE.

Crusaders News

Outdoor Education

Despite some weather hiccups, Crusaders Outdoor Education is in full swing!  The Grade 7 girls are heading out camping on Monday, September 15 to Stoney Creek Group Camp.

 

All Outdoor Ed students must have returned their waivers, and purchased an Outdoor Ed uniform, if they didn't already have one, from the PE office.

 

All students must have a swimsuit and towel on hand in case of inclement weather.

 

Volleyball

Tryouts are now complete for all 6 teams.  Junior High students will be informed of the results of their tryouts on Monday, if they haven't been already. Junior High practices start on Wednesday, September 17 with the 8/9 teams at 7:00am, and the 7/8 teams after school.

 

Next weekend is our annual High School volleyball tournament.  See schedule HERE.

 

Golf

We have 4 students competing in the Senior High Golf Tournament on September 22 at River Spirit.

 

Junior High Golf tryouts will be on Wednesday, September 17 at the National Golf Academy at 4:00pm with Mr. Gniewek. The tournament will be on the 25th of September at River Spirit.

 

Cross Country

With last week's first cross country race snowed out, our 5-man cross country team begins their season on September 15 with a race at River Park.

Saint of the Month: 

St. Jerome was an Illyrian Latin Christian priest, confessor, theologian, and historian, who also became a Doctor of the Church. He was the son of Eusebius. He is best known for his translation of the Bible into Latin and his commentaries on the Gospel of the Hebrews. Saint Jerome is commemorated on September 30 with a memorial.
