Apostolic Opportunity 

Jesus said: "Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brethren, you did it to me." (Matthew 25:40) Clear Water Academy is organizing an opportunity for parents to teach this to their children. On Wednesday, May 28, we will serve breakfast to the homeless at the Drop In Centre. We will start at 6:45am and should wrap-up by 8am. We need a minimum of 12 and a maximum of 25 volunteers; all volunteers must be 12 years old and up. If you are interested, please contact

CTV Athlete Of The Week

Buy Spring Play Tickets!
Our school play "Into the Woods" will be performed on Thursday, May 29 and Friday, May 30.  We will have a 4:00pm and 7:00pm show both evenings. To purchase tickets, please click HERE.
Crusaders News

Soccer

Soccer season is continuing along.  Please follow schedules on www.cwacrusaders.com and stay in touch with your team's coach about arranging rides and pickup times from practices and games.

 

Track and Field

We have a  number of Junior High students signed up to compete in the CISAA Track and Field Meet.  It will be held on May 27 (some Grade 7 events in afternoon) and May 28 (majority).  Parents of track athletes have received an information letter.  If you have any questions, please let Mr. D'Angelo know.  Event schedule will be sent home on Monday. 

 

Outdoor Education

Parents/students are reminded that participation in outdoor education course is mandatory for all students unless an injury or safety concerned has been discussed with the teacher in advance.   Students should adequately prepare for outdoor education class by bringing water and sunscreen.  They must also be dressed for the weather and in Crusader clothing.  All students must also have a swimsuit and towel on hand in case of inclement weather.


We are gearing up for our major outdoor ed trips.  

 

7B to Stoney Creek June 1 and 2

Grade 10 to Golden BC June 3 and 4

8G to Quaite Valley June 9 and 10. 

 

Night of the Crusader Athletic Awards - June 13

All athletes from this year are requested  to attend the Night of the Crusader Athletic Awards on Friday June 13.  Doors will open at 5:30PM with dinner served, followed by our athletic awards.   All athletes were required to purchase a $20 banquet ticket when they played their first sport this year.  Mr. D'Angelo will be following up with students who have not yet paid.

Parents can purchase tickets by visiting Mr. D'Angelo in the PE office for $20 each. 

 

Coaching 2014-2015

As the calendar moves closer to June, Mr. D'Angelo will begin the preparations for the 2014-2015 calendar year.

Crusaders Athletics has student athletes compete in 9 different sports (Cross Country Running, Golf, Volleyball, Basketball, Badminton, Team Handball, Floor Hockey, Track and Field, and Soccer).   We require lot's of help from the parent and extended CWA community in order for our programs to flourish.   Please contact [email protected] to start the application process of joining our coaching staff.   We are looking for committed, passionate, and knowledgeable coaches to design and implement quality programs congruent with the Mission of our school and Athletic Philosophy.     Please visit www.cwacrusaders.com for more information.

 

Floor Hockey for Blake

A number of CWA staff, parents, and alumni will be playing in the "World's Longest Floor Hockey Game" June 27-30 in the CWA gym.   More information about our attempt can be found at www.floorhockeyforblake.com    We are looking for volunteers and donations for our event!  Please contact Mr. D'Angelo if you'd like to help out! Saint of the Month: 

Philip Romolo Neri
(July 21, 1515 - May 25, 1595), known as the

Apostle of Rome, was an Italian priest noted for founding a society of secular clergy called the "Congregation of the Oratory".  Philip died around the end of the day on May 25, 1595, the Feast of Corpus Christi that year, after having spent the day hearing confessions and receiving visitors. St Philip Neri was beatified by Paul V in 1615, and canonized by Gregory XV in 1622. His memorial is celebrated on May 26 in the calendars of both the ordinary and extraordinary forms of the Roman Rite. His body is in the Chiesa Nuova

("New Church") in Rome.
