LIVING OUR FAITH

Virtue of the Month: Perseverance

Saint of the Month: St. Aloysius Gonzaga

St. Aloysius is the patron saint of Catholic youth. The memory of his life carries the sweet fragrance of purity united with the perseverance of a heroic life of penance. During an epidemic in Rome in 1591, he distinguished himself by his charity toward the sick in the hospital. These visits brought on him the illness that ended in his death. His last days were the faithful echo of his brief life of 24 years of age.

Lord, author of all heavenly gifts, you gave St. Aloysius both a wonderful innocence and a deep spirit of perseverance in serving others. Through his merits grant that we may imitate his life of devotion to you.  Amen.
FAITH IN OUR COMMUNITY
ONE ROCK
July 26-28: One Rock is a yearly gathering of youth in our Diocese to celebrate our Catholic Faith. This year, One Rock will coincide with World Youth Day in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Live broadcasts of Pope Francis will be streamed throughout the weekend. Camping will be available, as well as food from Food Trucks. Live concerts will take place throughout the weekend, with a special performance by acclaimed Catholic Singer-Songwriter Audrey Assad. Click HERE for more information.

ARCATHEOS AND CAPTIVENIA CAMPS

Annually, there are two camps we love to promote at CWA that take place for students over the summer vacation that incorporate living the virtues and support our Catholic faith: Camp Archatheos for boys and Camp Captivenia for girls. In the next few weeks, presentations will be taking place at CWA to support these camps.
