LIVING OUR FAITH

Virtue of the Month: Fortitude

Saint of the Month: St. Athanasius

What does the Church believe about Mary?

The Church speaks of Mary as someone who points us to Jesus.   A dogma is a teaching of the Church that Catholics are required to believe and that the Church states is necessary for salvation.  The four Marian dogmas are: Mary is the Mother of God.  Mary is ever-virgin.  Mary was conceived without sin (the Immaculate Conception).  Mary was assumed into Heaven.
FAITH IN OUR COMMUNITY
ONE ROCK
July 26-28: One Rock is a yearly gathering of youth in our Diocese to celebrate our Catholic Faith. This year, One Rock will coincide with World Youth Day in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Live broadcasts of Pope Francis will be streamed throughout the weekend. Camping will be available, as well as food from Food Trucks. Live concerts will take place throughout the weekend, with a special performance by acclaimed Catholic Singer-Songwriter Audrey Assad. Click HERE for more information.
