April ACTS OF MERCY - SACRAMENTO - VOLUNTEERS AND DONATIONS NEEDED
JustServe.org, together with local 501(c)(3) organizations, present to you Sacramento's biggest volunteering event. Acts of Mercy - Sacramento is in need of donations for homeless shelters, crisis centers, food and clothing closets, Veteran's associations, woman's shelters and transitional housing. Tune in to our Facebook page and Twitter account (ActsOfMercySac) and use the hashtag #SacWillAct to spread the word on Acts of Mercy - Sacramento. Please bring donations to the project site by April 30 - see our SERVICE OPPORTUNIES flyer for details.
Acts of Mercy - Sacramento is an unprecedented partnership of non-profit, religious and civic organizations that will work together during April 2016 to collect donations and perform service projects that will benefit more than 50 charities, and tens of thousands of individuals. As local organizations work cooperatively, individuals and groups in every corner of our community will "Be the ME in Acts of Mercy."
Coordination, training, support, materials, logistics, and mentoring will be provided through JustServe. Monday, April 25 DRIVING FOR CHANGE GOLF TOURNAMENT, AWARDS DINNER AND AUCTION
United Advocates for Children and Families 1st Annual Driving for Change Golf Tournament
Driving for Change Mental Wellness: Empower Parents, Invest in Children
The golf tournament will be held at the private Catta Verdera Country Club on Monday, April 25, 2016 at 9:00 am. The tournament will begin with a four (4) person Shotgun Scramble, including 18 holes of golf with golf cart and range balls, lunch, appetizers, cash bar and an awards dinner with auction. Enjoy a day of golf on a premier, members only golf course while supporting children, youth and families working toward mental wellness.
The guest speaker of the event will be the Honorable Patrick J. Kennedy, a national champion on mental health and the author of the Mental Health Parity Act; Founder, Kennedy Forum on Community Mental Health; Co-Founder, One Mind. He will speak on the importance of mental wellness within families.

Sunday May 1 COMMUNITYWIDE YOM HASHOAH COMMEMORATION
May 1, 2016. Communitywide Yom HaShoah Commemoration. Details TBD. The commemoration begins with a candlelight procession. Survivors and refugees and their children and descendants to gather at 6:15pm in the social hall just beyond the foyer. Program is 6:30-8:00pm.
