From the President's Desk
A very busy 2016 is already sketched in on our electronic and paper calendars. That means a lot of service and a lot of attendance to needs. As usual we can always use more volunteers and as usual we can always use more funding. The interfaith work in Greater Sacramento is an essential one because of the diversity of faiths and the across-the-spectrum look at how we see our God and our personal, private religious practices.
We pray for all. We hope for all. We talk continually about works of faith, about peace, about blessings and about doing good for good's sake. We invite you to join with us. Spread the word that we are spreading, will you please? There is much to do. We can use help and resources. Enjoy the month of February when we have traditionally turned our hearts and our advertising to love and being loved. We want that for everyone.

What's New at SacFaith TV
In April we are co-sponsoring a day-long event focusing on extremes. Our partner and host in this is National University in Rancho Cordova. It looks to be a great day discussing many topics of concern. We hope you'll check our web site for more information in coming weeks. It's a free seminar that only requires your heart and your mind to be present with us.

News from The Village on North C Street - New Friendship Park
The big news on North C Street is how rapidly the new Friendship Park is unfolding. We also continue to pursue the HERS Project which would enable more housing to be made available to women and children there. We think good shelter means safety, it means warmth, it means cleanliness and it means opportunity to do more and to seek and find more in the lives of so many living on the streets of Sacramento at the present time. Pray that all of this can come together.

New Members & Donations
We did not receive any ICGS membership dues or donations to the ICGS from Faith Groups or Organizations in January. However, we sincerely thank the individual donors who gave generously last month.
We invite you to become involved in helping fund our approaches and events -- please click Membership or Donate in the Quick Links box to the right. It is through your support of the ICGS that we can continue to grow and expand our interfaith work!

February 6-7 LUNAR FLOWER FEST AND LITTLE SAIGON TET PARADE
February 6, 2016 9:00 am - February 7, 2016 8:00 pm -- The Lunar Flower Fest and Little Saigon Tet Parade are two of our most successful signature events with over 10,000 attendees in the heart of the Little Saigon District. The Lunar Flower Fest is a cultural tradition before the Lunar New Year where families go shopping for new clothes, flowers, rice cake, red envelopes and everything to prepare for the New Year. This year's Little Saigon Tet Parade is to bring in the spirit of welcoming the Year of the Monkey.
These two significant events will promote the Vietnamese culture and commerce to build a stronger, diverse community. The event program will include entertainment, carnival games, traditional cuisine, many different vendors in multiple industries, bingo, raffles and much more. Everyone is welcome! Location: Little Saigon District 6525 Florin Road, Sacramento, CA 95823 The mission of the Greater Sacramento Vietnamese American Chamber of Commerce (GSVACC) is to promote business and economic growth opportunities for its diverse members and to serve as a regional catalyst to make positive impacts to the community's health and economic well being.
