What's New at ICGS
We continue our out-reach approach to all faiths and all people, all the time.  You can get on our mailing list by going to sacramentointerfaith.org and we will get you involved in our events and gatherings. A lot is planned in 2016 and we are hopeful of having many, many of our friends and family members, from all religious affiliations, join us in celebrating our diversity and enjoyment toward all of the things we do so similar.  We're reaching out to you. Reach back to us, please. Involve your friends and co-workers. The Interfaith work has existed in Sacramento since 1911 and is the oldest interfaith organization west of the Mississippi. We are trying to grow in being together in so many of our walks through life.

News from The Village on North C Street - Dan Delany
Dan Delany, the former priest who fell in love with a nun, who then brought their practicing religious approaches thereafter - and their children and grandchildren - to a way of life known in Sacramento as Loaves and Fishes, passed away ten days ago.  A funeral mass was held at St. Francis and an Open House and gathering for many were held thereafter at Loaves and Fishes on North C Street. Dan and his wife, Chris, have been pillars in our community. They have shown the way for caring and giving to those less fortunate. They have allowed a great contribution to society in River City.

We've been busy gathering sleeping bags, once again, to distribute to the homeless during the holidays.  We can come and pick them up if you will give us a call. It provides shelter, warmth and some safety at night. 916.801.8883 (Jon) will see that the retrieval of your giving is taken care of.
Monday, November 2 VIDEO FROM INTERFAITH NIGHT OF MUSIC AND THE SPOKEN WORD
If you missed the Interfaith Night of Music and the Spoken Word, SacFaithTV filmed the event and it will be broadcast on Cable Channels 20 (Comcast) and 19 (SureWest) in Sacramento County on Monday, November 2 at 9 pm. Some great video from outside of St. Francis Parish Church is included in that hour-long program because of a new camera drone, as well as traditional video and audio works inside the church done by the TV station professionals.

November 6-7, 13-14 DYNAMIC DIALOGUE INTRODUCTORY WORKSHOPS
Dear Ones:

Just wanted to send a reminder that we are offering the next Dynamic Dialogue Introductory workshops soon.  The next dates for all the components of the Introduction are Friday and Saturday November 6-7 and 13-14, 2015 in Sacramento.

We have been working with this new material for the past year.  The evaluations have be excellent.  Below I have provided a brief  description of why we developed Dynamic Dialogue™

Why Bread of Life Developed Dynamic Dialogue™

Dynamic Dialogue is the new Dialogue program offered by the Bread of Life Center. With a mission of offering practices, skills and processes that transform individuals, organizations and communities, we realized it was time to evolve a 'next generation' understanding of key components in the work of dialogue.

This awareness emerged from a combination of the evaluations and feedback of participants in the Dialogue programs we had offered since 2002* with new learning from the maturing community of regional practitioners who pointed to unmet needs for them and the people they work with.

We felt a need to provide a fresh practice framework that:
·        Meets a broader range of needs and settings than we had found possible in earlier work
·       Provides a common language that is accessible to a variety of audiences
·       Helps practitioners set goals for themselves within an evolving practice that holds the creative tension between the need for consistency and integrity with the need for flexibility to evolve, adapt and grow the practice in new ways.

We believe Dynamic Dialogue achieves these three goals without losing the integrity, authenticity and values that are core to healthy Dialogue practice. Dialogue at its best allows new understandings, freer ways of relating, and creative new actions to emerge among individuals and groups facing into the complex challenges of our time.

We are delighted to offer this work and welcome your questions or requests for more information.

As always if you do not want to receive information about these workshops please let me know.  Thanks,

From the President's Desk
ICGS President Jon Fish writes:

November always brings a standing recognition of Thanksgiving in America - both as a holiday and as a practice of faith.  Giving thanks aligns itself with spiritual growth.  One wise leader once said, "If when you pray, all you say is thank you. It will be enough." Because so much focus in society rests on the bad and ugly - of which we are keenly aware - we encourage you to give thought this month to focusing on the good and the lovely in your lives.  I visit churches, synagogues and mosques routinely and always find the good there in so many people trying to improve their circumstances through worship.  I am also very much aware of those that do not believe in God...but just because they don't believe, doesn't mean that God does not exist. C.S. Lewis penned, that worshippers "do not think God will love us because we are good, but that God will make us good because He loves us." All of that fits our thankful approach very well.
