Saturday, October 18 HOST A DISCUSSION TABLE AT HEIFER BEYOND HUNGER CELBRATION

All Sacramento Faith-based groups,

This year marks the 70th anniversary of Heifer International.

Imagine-- 70 years and over 20 million families lifted from poverty to self-reliance!  Heifer's successes can be attributed to hundreds of communities around the world--your church prominent among them--who are committed and caring partners sharing the vision of a just and sustainable world free from hunger and poverty.

During this anniversary year, in country-wide regional celebrations named Beyond Hunger, individuals, civic groups and faith communities like yours are invited to celebrate the progress being made in lifting up the problem of food insecurity and Heifer's unique community development solution.

Sacramento Area Heifer Volunteers will serve as host for Beyond Hunger. The event is scheduled for Saturday, October 18, 2014, 1:00-4:00 p.m. at St. Mark's United Methodist Church, 2391 St. Mark's Way, Sacramento, CA 95864.  Click on this flyer and news release for details.

We would like to invite any church social action committee which might have an interest (such as the Global Hunger Task Force or the Committee for Social Justice and Sustainability) to set up a discussion table or booth at the event.

This promises to be a well-attended and outstanding event.  Please let me know if you would like to host a discussion table.

Thanks, John Brewer, Lead Volunteer
