Free Public Lecture - June 22
"The Public Christian - the calling and vocation of Christians and the church in public life," a free public lecture by Rev. Dr.  E. Guy Erwin, Bishop, Southwest California Synod, Evangelical Lutheran Church in America.

Sunday, June 22, 4 p.m.

Bishop Erwin was elected bishop in 2013 after serving at California Lutheran University since 2000, where he held an endowed chair in Lutheran confessional theology and served as director for the Segerhammar Center for Faith and Culture.  Prior to his recent ordination and election as bishop, Dr. Erwin served as a teaching theologian for the ELCA Conference of Bishops.  He has an undergraduate degree in history from Harvard, two master's degrees and a doctorate from Yale, and was a graduate Fulbright Scholar in Germany.  He is the only American Lutheran on the 120-member Faith and Order Commission of the World Council of Churches.   Bishop Erwin is a native of Oklahoma and an active member of the Osage Tribe.  His Sacramento appearance is part of the events marking the 30th anniversary of the Lutheran Office of Public Policy - California.

Unity of Sacramento Movie Night - June 27

Community Dance Performances in July
Tzofim ("Scouts" in Hebrew) spreads a message of peace, peoplehood, and friendship through song and dance. Performances are focused on Israeli youth and culture and strengthening ties between families living in Israel and the United States. Come dance with us! Sponsored by the Israel Affairs Committee of the Jewish Community Relations Council, a program of the Jewish Federation.

Fab 40's 5k Run/Walk - July 26

The 5K is coming on Saturday, July 26th!

It's that time of year again and we're making final plans for the upcoming Alzheimer's 5K at East Lawn. Please plan to join us for this enjoyable and very worthwhile annual tradition. This year we're excited to have Big Jim Hall of K-Hits acting as MC and Tamara Berg of KCRA also hosting the event with us. Invite your friends, family and neighbors to come out and support this important cause. Put together a team to run (or walk) together! More information is posted on the flyer above.
