We just completed an amazing summer of activities here at The Harris Foundation and I look forward to a productive Fall 2013 as we enter into a new school year. Our programs continue to make great progress in our outreach to communities while empowering the youth and families of America.

For over seven years now, the ExxonMobil Bernard Harris Summer Science Camp (EMBHSSC) has provided middle school students with the opportunity to expand their minds and their career horizons through our programs held at universities across the nation. This past summer we hosted camps at twenty different universities and reached over 950 students in the hopes of inspiring them to explore their infinite possibilities through STEM education.

Through our partnership with Communities in Schools (CIS), Harris County Juvenile Probation Department, the FBI and Houston area school districts, the Dare to Dream (DTD) program began a new school year with ten partner schools within the Houston and Alief independent School Districts. Entering its eighteenth year, the DTD program looks to expand its educational and mentoring program beyond the city of Houston in the near future.

Our Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Community Health Leaders (RWJF-CHL) program is in the planning phases of its 20th Anniversary Celebration to take place in Princeton, NJ this Fall. We are always excited to honor our Leaders and grateful for the success of the RWJF-CHL program's mission to recognize such outstanding leaders who care for the health and well-being of their community.

As you can see, The Harris Foundation continues to cultivate a legacy of leadership and empowerment through education that we hope to sustain for years to come. I am thankful to our partners, sponsors and supporters for their efforts in helping The Harris Foundation achieve its goals.
