I am delighted that The Harris Foundation continues to grow by leaps and bounds in our continued commitment to empower America's youth and families. In October, we had a very successful Fall Forum for the ExxonMobil Bernard Harris Summer Science Camps (EMBHSSC), where camp directors from twenty (20) different universities from around the nation converged on Houston. They spent three (3) days discussing lessons learned from this year's program to make the 2013 EMBHSSC even better. The result of the 2012 program was to provide a STEM based curriculum to over 960 students from  628 schools.

This school year, our Dare to Dream program began its seventeenth year working in schools in Harris County, Texas. It is always an honor to have the support of great partnerships who believe in your vision to help cultivate the community in such a positive way. This year the Dare to Dream program has a presence in eleven elementary and middle schools; providing students with a curriculum focusing on self-improvement, community service and career building skills.

Most recently, we have expanded our reach by creating a fun and educational financial literacy program called "RockIt!". We successfully launched the new "RockIt!" program with support from our partners at Capital One, Game Truck, the Houston Independent School District and the Federal Reserve Bank Dallas - Houston Branch with an excited group of seventh grade students at Marshall Middle School here in Houston, TX. The program looks to increase financial intelligence by giving students a strong foundation in sound financial and entrepreneurial principles through interactive lessons and gaming experiences.

I am also proud to announce that our affiliates at the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Community Health Leaders program recognized ten remarkable men and women this month during their 2012 Annual Meeting and Award Ceremony in San Antonio, Texas. Each year the RWJF Community Health Leaders program awards forward-thinking individuals who are working to increase access to health care and eliminate health disparities.

The Harris Foundation remains committed to its mission of supporting our nation's communities in the areas of education, health and wealth. By investing in the well-being of the next generation, we hope each child's eyes will be opened to a world of "infinite possibilities".
