Technology 4 Hotels Update

Technology 4 Hotels Banner

In this edition we are going to talk about something not directly related to technology. Why the change you may ask? There are a couple of reasons.  Whilst Technology 4 Hotels tends to focus on Technology, our core philosophy is really about helping hoteliers enhance the overall guest experience and based on my personal experience at Sofitel Sydney Wentworth, I have something interesting for you to consider.

First, let me share my experience.

"I will never forget the evening I first stepped into the lobby of the Sofitel Wentworth Sydney and smelt the most glorious and welcoming scent. It exuded luxury and made me feel like I had just arrived somewhere special. It was just so pleasant I couldn't get enough of it."

Wouldn't you want your guests to have the same experience?

I think in today's competitive market smart hoteliers need to look at anything that can enhance the guest experience and differentiate their property. So today we are talking about Scents and Scent Branding.

Did you Know?

The human sense of smell plays an important role in memory.

Scent receptors in the nose connect directly to the section of the brain responsible for memory and emotions.

Does the smell of cookies baking remind you of your Grandmother?

The smell of the sea remind you of childhood holidays?

You can create treasured memories for your guests through the use of scent.

A Bit More About Scents

Air Aroma are the experts in scent branding. They have systems designed and developed with hotels in mind.  They have an amazing range of off the shelf scents or they can create a signature scent (like they have for Sofitel) for you which can create a truly powerful connection with your guests that is individual and unique.

Linking a brand with a scent

Scent branding is more than just diffusing a pleasant fragrance in a space. It is the art of taking a company's brand identity, marketing messages, target audience and matching these with a fragrance that amplifies these branding aspects.

This can become highly effective in environments where other sensory triggers, such as the use of lighting, sound and luxurious surroundings combine allowing you to establish a longer-lasting emotional connection with your guests.

What is the benefit of a Scent in Your Property?
  • Brand recognition

Your valued guests will instantly remember your brand by its signature fragrance. (Take home packs and candles are also available)

  • Stay longer & return

Data shows that the power of scent drives loyalty and guests will return to your hotel.

  • Emotional connection

Vanilla increases the sense of comfort, connect with your guests through the sense of smell.

Many options to suit your Property

Arologic by Air Aroma was specifically designed and developed with hotels in mind. It makes controlled scenting easy, as scenting every room in a hotel all from the front desk is now possible. This world first in scenting solutions uses the principles of wireless technology in conjunction with a network of scent diffusers to control multiple scent zones remotely.
