Stewardship Sunday

SUNDAES ON SUNDAY

For the next two Sundays, Pastor Pete, Melissa, Emily and Hannah will treat the congregation to Sundaes on Sunday.

Join them in the pastor's office for a real treat this Sunday after worship!  When we meet, we eat!

SCHOOL SHOE PROGRAM

On Monday July 21, People In Need of Delaware County (PIN) will begin the annual School Shoe Program.  Now in the 16th year, this program has helped thousands of Low-to-Moderate Income children who reside in and attend Delaware County schools.

The parent of a child who meets the criteria stated above is given a gift card to the PayLess Shoe store to purchase one pair of shoes for the child to begin the new school year.  Parents often comment that if it weren't for this program, their children would not have new shoes to start the school year off right.

Last year, PIN provided gift cards for 517 pairs of shoes at a cost of $12,925.  We were only able to do this through the generosity of our community.  Please consider giving a monetary donation to this one-of-a-kind program that serves Delaware County children.

IN THE MAILBOX LAST WEEK

We received this note in the mailbox this week from Dr. Lynda Hall, Chair of the Department of Psychology at Ohio Wesleyan University. Please read and help if you are eligible and have an interest!

"I am supervising two student research interns this summer, and they are looking for volunteers to participate in research on cognitive aging. We are working on two projects.  The first is an investigation of reading comprehension, and the materials for the study are in Spanish. We need volunteers who are age 60 or older and who completed at least two high school or college Spanish courses for this study, and it requires about 90 minutes to complete.  For the second study, we're looking for any adults age 60 or older, and its focus is on people's perceptions of aging.  It requires less than an hour.  We administer the tests in our lab at Ohio Wesleyan, and we can pay $15 per participant for each study."

Please let Pastor Pete know if you are interested in participating in this interesting project.

SILENT SANCTUARY

***Please note that due to school obligations, silent sanctuary is cancelled for tonight.***

Do you enjoy the aroma of candles? Do you enjoy the setting sun through stained glass windows? Do you like watching the flickering of candlelight against the darkness? Do you like the thought of quiet meditation/prayer?

Please feel free to join Skylar Seward every Friday evening at 7:00 pm. for a quiet,"soul refreshing" time of renewal.  Stay for 10 minutes, an hour or even two...whatever you need.  Hope to see you there!

ALL are WELCOME!
