ZION VBS NEXT WEEK!!
PLEASE HELP IF YOU CAN!!

Vacation Bible School (VBS) will be held next week at Zion!

Zion will be transformed into an exciting carnival where kids will experience the love of Jesus and meet welcoming neighbors from the Bible.

Help is needed to make this an AMUSING experience for our children!  How can YOU "Step Right Up" and help?

1.  Invite your children, grandchildren, neighbors!  (Registration forms are on the table under the bulletin board.)

2.  Volunteer to help at VBS!  Email Carrie Abahazi if you would like to help cabahazi@hotmail.com.

3.  Donate money to help in the purchase of items for crafts, games and snacks!  (Donations can be placed in the morning offering; please note VBS on your check or envelope.)

Also, we are again doing the "Care bags" for our VBS Mission Project.  If church members would like to help, they would need to drop off supplies THIS SUNDAY.

The items will be donated to SHARE, an organization committed to sharing essential supplies with homeless and hurting people.

Items we need for the kits are: washcloths, toothbrushes, toothpaste, soap, deodorant, shampoo, combs & gallon sized Zip-loc bags.

THANK YOU!

IN THE MAILBOX THIS WEEK

We received this note in the mailbox this week from Dr. Lynda Hall, Chair of the Department of Psychology at Ohio Wesleyan University. Please read and help if you are eligible and have an interest!

"I am supervising two student research interns this summer, and they are looking for volunteers to participate in research on cognitive aging. We are working on two projects.  The first is an investigation of reading comprehension, and the materials for the study are in Spanish. We need volunteers who are age 60 or older and who completed at least two high school or college Spanish courses for this study, and it requires about 90 minutes to complete.  For the second study, we're looking for any adults age 60 or older, and its focus is on people's perceptions of aging.  It requires less than an hour.  We administer the tests in our lab at Ohio Wesleyan, and we can pay $15 per participant for each study."

Please let Pastor Pete know if you are interested in participating in this interesting project.

SILENT SANCTUARY

Do you enjoy the aroma of candles? Do you enjoy the setting sun through stained glass windows? Do you like watching the flickering of candlelight against the darkness? Do you like the thought of quiet meditation/prayer?

Please feel free to join Skylar Seward every Friday evening at 7:00 pm. for a quiet,"soul refreshing" time of renewal.  Stay for 10 minutes, an hour or even two...whatever you need.  Hope to see you there!

ALL are WELCOME!
