4th Annual Family
Promise Italian Dinner

Pastor Pete and Mike are looking for company to join them for the 4th Annual Italian Dinner to benefit Family Promise.  Bo Reed, chef at the Delaware Community Market and former chef at the iconic Pizza Villa will prepare a tasty authentic Italian dinner for your pleasure.

We will gather at Zion at 5:45 on Tuesday, April 29 and (weather permitting) walk to St Mary Catholic Church for the dinner.  For those who would rather drive to St. Mary, we will meet you there.

Save the date!  Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for students 12 and younger.  Carryout is available if you want to take some special treats home for you or another.  There will also be a Silent Auction.

Well Done Good and Faithful Servants!

You've Done It Again Zion!

Another Banner month for the WOW wagon.  123 pounds of donated food and taxable items in March.  Special thank you shout out to Gary Stout who made a generous contribution of a wide variety of toiletries.  We are well on our way to breaking last year's record of 1096 pounds and exceeding this year's goal of 1250.  Keep it up!!

IN THE MAILBOX THIS WEEK

Dear Pastor Pete and Zion United Church of Christ,

The Delaware County Habitat for Humanity Board, Kathy Crawford Family, and I want to thank you for your partnership as an Apostle Build III Church in building our 49th habitat house.  We appreciate your first-time support as an Apostle Build Church and especially your generous support of $3,319 for this Apostle Build house.  We also value having the opportunity to collaborate with Mike Newcomb, as a representative of your church, in helping make this generous contribution possible, and both of you providing devotionals and attending all our celebration events for this home. You, Mike and your church are a blessing to our affiliate.

PLUMBING PRESENTS
PERPLEXING PROBLEM

Many members of Zion leaving church last Sunday noticed an unusual "bubbling" from pipes in the ground in several locations around the church.  We have a problem.

Our Ministers of Property (MOP) and Council are working to address the problem.  The scope of the problem is unknown at the moment but we should know more by early next week. It is conceivable that fixing this problem will be expensive.  Stay tuned for more information as MOP and Council receive more information from the plumbers we have contracted with to help us solve this problem.

LENTEN BIBLE STUDY
ON SUNDAY!!

Rev. Mr. Matthew Wilson is conducting a Bible study during our lenten season at Zion.  Thank you Matt!

The study is titled Prayers in the Bible, nourishing the hungry spirit and is adapted from The Thoughtful Christian curriculum.

The purpose of the study is to explore prayers of Thanksgiving, Praise, Intercession and Confession in the Bible and relate them to Zion's Lenten emphasis on hunger.

We will meet on the following Sundays during Lent; March 9, 16, 23, (30) and April 6 and 13. We will begin at 8:30 with a light breakfast and fellowship, then meet for class from 8:45-9:45.

All are invited.  Please contact Matthew Wilson if you will need child care or have any questions in regard to our time together.  740.369.3038
