ONE GREAT HOUR
OF SHARING

One of the great stories being told at Zion is our increasing support for mission.  On Sunday we will receive gifts for One Great Hour of Sharing.  One Great Hour of Sharing, as part of Our Church's Wider Mission (OCWM), is one of the four special mission offerings of the United Church of Christ. Working in more than 138 countries, the offering provides hope to people 365 days each year. The UCC works with international partners, and together we provide support to health, education, refugee, agricultural, and emergency relief initiatives.  Zion's support of this important effort has increased dramatically in recent years.  Let's continue to be one in mission.  Please give!

EASTER FLOWERS
ORDER DEADLINE SUNDAY!

Easter flowers are now being ordered in memory of or to honor your loved ones.  Please look for the order forms within your bulletin.  The cutoff for ordering is today, March 30. Please provide cash or check with your order.  Please consider contributing to this wonderful and beautiful tradition at Zion.

PLUMBING PROBLEM PRESENTS
PERPLEXING PROBLEM

Many members of Zion leaving church last Sunday noticed an unusual "bubbling" from pipes in the ground in several locations around the church.  We have a problem.

Our Ministers of Property (MOP) and Council are working to address the problem.  The scope of the problem is unknown at the moment but we should know more by early next week. It is conceivable that fixing this problem will be expensive.  Stay tuned for more information as MOP and Council receive more information from the plumbers we have contracted with to help us solve this problem.

LENTEN BIBLE STUDY
ON SUNDAY!!

Rev. Mr. Matthew Wilson is conducting a Bible study during our lenten season at Zion.  Thank you Matt!

The study is titled Prayers in the Bible, nourishing the hungry spirit and is adapted from The Thoughtful Christian curriculum.

The purpose of the study is to explore prayers of Thanksgiving, Praise, Intercession and Confession in the Bible and relate them to Zion's Lenten emphasis on hunger.

We will meet on the following Sundays during Lent; March 9, 16, 23, (30) and April 6 and 13. We will begin at 8:30 with a light breakfast and fellowship, then meet for class from 8:45-9:45.

All are invited.  Please contact Matthew Wilson if you will need child care or have any questions in regard to our time together.  740.369.3038

Purple Paraments

We have been so blessed to have had a real artist design and make our new paraments for the Lenten season.  Kit Tossman (daughter of Bob and Betsy Johnson) has presented to us a beautiful set of meaningful adornments for our sanctuary during this season.  The paraments are thematically based upon the beautiful scripture we find at John 15:5.  "I am the vine; you are the branches.  If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing." (NIV)

If you wish to make a modest donation to support the purchase of these paraments for Zion please see Pastor Pete.
