LENTEN BIBLE STUDY
STARTS ON SUNDAY!!

Rev. Mr. Matthew Wilson will be conducting a Bible study during our lenten season at Zion.

The study is titled Prayers in the Bible, nourishing the hungry spirit and is adapted from The Thoughtful Christian curriculum.

The purpose of the study is to explore prayers of Thanksgiving, Praise, Intercession and Confession in the Bible and relate them to Zion's Lenten emphasis on hunger.

We will meet on the following Sundays during Lent; March 9, 16, 23, (30) and April 6 and 13. We will begin at 8:30 with a light breakfast and fellowship, then meet for class from 8:45-9:45.

All are invited.  Please contact Matthew Wilson if you will need child care or have any questions in regard to our time together.  740.369.3038

IN THE MAILBOX THIS WEEK

Imagine my surprise when I opened an envelope which was received in Zion's mailbox this week and found a check for $500.  The donor wished to remain anonymous.  The memorandum slot had these two words -
Love Offering.

Praise God from whom all blessings flow!
MEET OUR NEW CHURCH SECRETARY! ANGIE SEWARD

Our new church Secretary has been hired and she is already deeply engaged in preparing the church bulletin, returning phone calls, ordering the files, and catching up with any number of other details that have been set aside during the past month while we were without a church secretary.

Angie is an active member of North Congregational Church in Columbus where she is the superintendent of the children's education program; a program that has grown from 10 to 63 children during her watch.  She and Skylar live in Delaware.  Skylar is serving this year as our student in residence during his studies at the Methodist Theological School.

Don't hesitate to chat with Angie about her new duties and to wish her well in her new position when you see her at church on Sunday morning.

NO WONDER WE CALL IT
THE WOW WAGON!

Another banner month for the WOW (Wheels of Warmth) wagon.

We collected 93 pounds in February bringing our yearly total to an astounding 246 pounds.  That is almost double what we had collected last year at this time (130 pounds).

Let's keep it up!!  As you know, we exceeded our goal of 1,000 pounds last year.  Let's do the same by smashing this year's goal of 1,250 pounds.

Together, we can do it!!

THANK YOU ZION!!

Last Sunday the plates were overflowing with envelopes containing resources to be applied for the benefit of our new friends from Ohio Wesleyan who will be traveling to El Paso/Juarez in mission tomorrow morning.

God's shares with us a generous Spirit of giving and forgiving.  Thank you Zion for following this example and sharing God's abundance with others.  Thank you, students, for offering your lives in meaningful mission and service.  Go in Peace!
