ECUMENICAL YOUTH GROUP

How sweet it is!  Grace Fuchs brings us news of a sweet offering; "Delectable Desserts".  This is an Ecumenical Youth Group fundraising event which appeals to the sweet tooth in each of us.  This event will be held at Willow Brook Delaware Run (100 Delaware Crossing West) on January 25 from 1:00 until 3:00 in the afternoon.

Participation cost is $10 to enter and sample each of the dessert entries.  Please see Grace Fuchs for more details in regard to this important fundraising activity.  Please help raise funds to support our youth and their Summer Youth Camp activities!  Thank you!

BELL RINGER OPENINGS

Please let Brian know if you have an interest in joining Zion's Handbell Choir.  There are currently several openings in this august body.

As you know, this is an important part of our ministry at Zion and we always welcome the opportunity to make a joyful noise unto the Lord!

The Zion Handbell Choir provides important worship offerings to share with the congregation and, as you know, the choir is an active participant in the annual Delaware Community Bell Concert held each year at historic Gray Chapel on the campus of Ohio Wesleyan University.

TOOL SHED

Our church Council has approved the construction of a storage facility for church equipment and tools.

Thank you Bob Irvin for your considerable work on this project.  Also, thank you to Wayne Rogers who has volunteered to construct the building this spring.

The facility will cost approximately $1,700. Several "lead" gifts and commitments have already been received.  If you would like to contribute to the purchase of this important addition it would be a welcome gift indeed!

ZION SECRETARY POSITION OPEN!

As you may know, our church secretary Beth Trigg is following a call to serve as the new director of the Delaware County Family Promise program.  Unfortunately, this means Beth will no longer be able to continue to serve as secretary at Zion.  We know Beth will make a meaningful and significant contribution to the mission of Family Promise and we look forward to continuing our relationship with her as a Family Promise Partner Church.

So, we are now looking to fill the position of Secretary of Zion Church.  Please spread the word!  Applicants should be well versed in a variety of technological applications (Word, Excel, Powerpoint) and should also be able to navigate comfortably through the internet and associated applications.  This is a part time compensated position requiring between 12 - 14 hours each week.

Interested persons may inquire about this position by contacting Bill Keesee or Beth Kremer at the following email addresses (wkeesee@columbus.rr.com or bethkremer@hotmail.com) or by contacting any other member of Church Council.  Thank you for spreading the word!

PASTOR'S PURSE

We have renamed the Local Mission Fund.  It is now the Pastor's Purse.  The change will ease the tracking and accounting for our extensive Local Mission activities.  The title of the new fund honors Pastor Pete's grandfather, the Rev. Mr. John M. Peterson who maintained a "Parson's Purse" fund for emergency relief at the Prescott First Congregational Church in the town of Prescott, Wisconsin where Pastor Pete was born and baptized.  Please designate future emergency relief contributions to this fund.  Thank you for your continued support of these efforts.  You are making a difference in the lives of vulnerable persons!
