Animal Blessings

Thank you Skylar for leading us in such an inspirational service on Sunday.

Many brought their animal companions to share the day as we offered thanks for our animal friends and companions.  Blessings were offered upon animal and human companions and the relationships we share.

Always one to surprise and delight, Marlene introduced us to her special guests; fruit flies!  St. Francis would be proud!

Outdoor Service

For the first time in many, many years we enjoyed the opportunity to worship outside on Sunday.  The occasion of this year's Blessing of the Animals prompted us to gather our hymnals, our musical instruments and ourselves as we adjourned to God's great outdoors.

We were met outside by our special guests; our animal companions.  We continued our time together outdoors as we adjourned to Miller's Country Gardens for our annual Zion Hayride.

Team Zion (with PIN Director Kevin Crowley) at CropWalk 2012

CropWalk - Join Team Zion Online Walkers Needed!!

This year's CropWalk is scheduled for October 6.  Zion has been a consistent supporter of this important effort which raises funds to fight hunger. Twenty-five percent (25%) of the proceeds go directly to People In Need (PIN).

The money raised is important, yes.  But equally important is the walk where we share our support with other members of Delaware's faith community.

Here is how to join up with Team Zion.  You might want to walk.  You might want to contribute.  You might want to do both. Here is what to do online to support the effort!

2.  Click on "Your Walk Info" in the top bar menu.
3.  Click on the "Sign Up" option.
4.  Of the three options, click on "join an existing team".
5.  Find Team Zion and click on "Join Team".
6.  Sign Up as a new member.  You may contribute or not.  It is up to you.
7.  You can handle the options from there.  Hope you will walk with us!!

Family Promise

On October 6 Zion begins another week as the host congregation at Promise House. We will be the host congregation from Sunday October 6 through Saturday October 12.  This has become a special opportunity for local mission for Zion and area churches and it is a a time enjoyed by many of our members.

Mike is preparing the volunteer list.  Volunteers are needed to cook evening meals as well as to provide special supplies.  In addition, Family Promise families always enjoy Zion members dropping by for conversation and fellowship. Many lasting friendships have developed from our time with Family Promise families and we always look forward to our time in Promise House.
