We are saddened, this week, to hear that Linda Fields, mother of Matt Fields, has passed from this mortal life.  

 

One of the Zion highlights of each fall is our annual trip to Miller's Country Gardens for our seasonal hayride.

This year's Zion Fall Hayride will be on September 29 after our Blessing of the Animals at Zion.

Bring your favorite dish!  Always a great time with Miller hospitality!

Matt is writing a book on the challenges and opportunities facing young men and women with autism attending college or university. He has been using Zion since early summer as his "base of operations" and we are so pleased and blessed to have   him with us. Stop in to say hi     when you have a chance                                                                                     and welcome him back to Zion!

As you know, three of Zion's own are attending Ohio University. Please take the time, if you are able, to send them a handwritten note. It would mean a great deal to them.  Here are the addresses of our "Bobcats".

This year's CropWalk is scheduled for October 6.  Zion has been a consistent supporter of this important effort which raises funds to fight hunger. Twenty-five percent (25%) of the proceeds go directly to People In Need (PIN).

The money raised is important, yes.  But equally important is the walk where we share our support with other members of Delaware's ecumenical community.  Please consider walking with us!!

Please share some of your summer photos with us for a Zion Summer Slideshow on September 22 (the day after summer officially ends).  Please send your favorite photos of family members which share your particular memories of this summer.

Send your best photos to share with other members of Zion during an upcoming worship service.  

Good news!  Our Saturday morning new members class for 2013 will begin on September 7 at 9:30 in the morning. We will meet up on Saturdays until Founders Day (October 13) when new members will be welcomed into the church at Zion. For those unable to make the Saturday morning class, we will also be meeting at 11:30 each Sunday after worship. Please let Pastor Pete know if you are interested in participating in the class and becoming a member of Zion.  

Come and enjoy a cup of coffee, some church chatter and wonderful fellowship with your friends.  We might even throw in some bagels!!
