Vacation Bible School (VBS) begins on July 15 and we need to show our children we support their mission project; project SHARE. Project SHARE is committed to sharing essential supplies with homeless and hurting people within our community.  If you are able and willing, please place some of the pictured supplies in the container located at the rear of the sanctuary.  It needs to be full by Monday July 15.  The small individual travel size commodities are best for this purpose.

As you know, one of our important ministries at Zion is fighting hunger. In this regard, several times during the year we "staff" the Second Friday Community Meal at Andrews House.  Andrews House is one of our covenant mission partners in Delaware.

Our next "shift" is next Friday, July 12 (5:30 - 7:00).  

We need five (5) to seven (7) church members or friends for this purpose.  Please let Pastor Pete or one of our MOM's (Ministers of Mission; Nancy, Donna, Mike or Konrad) know of your interest.    

 

Those were the comedic words of Agent 86 (otherwise known as Maxwell Smart) from the 1960's hit TV series Get Smart. 

Perhaps not many of you will remember agent Maxwell Smart.  But you can remember to keep bringing food and other necessities to fill the WOW (Wheels of Warmth) wagon at the back of the sanctuary.  These items are donated to People in Need (PIN).

We just barely missed our six month goal of 500 pounds. We donated, for the first six months of this year, 492 pounds.  Pretty doggone close to where we needed to be.

Plenty of time to make that up in the last six months of the year.  Go Team Zion Go! With your help, we can still easily make 1,000 pounds this year!
