Prayer Concerns

Sandy and Ally at this week's Mobile Food Market.

As we send out this week's Zmail we have received news that a beloved member of Susan, Brian, Elizabeth, Rachel and Jason White's family is suffering from a serious medical condition .  We are waiting for more information on the severity of the situation.  Please keep Bob and Sherry Bailey, the White family, friends and family members in your prayers as we pray for positive healthful outcomes and healing.

Nathan and Jennifer Wed

Our brother and sister in Christ, Nathan Jenkins and Jennifer Phillips, were united in marriage last Saturday. Pastor Pete officiated the wedding where over 250 persons celebrated the special day with Jen and Nate.

The wedding was held at the Hickory Lakes facility in Pickerington. While storm clouds had gathered in the morning, after a brief and refreshing rain shower, the clouds parted and the wedding took place as planned outdoors next to a pond behind the lodge.  Blue herons circled the pond looking for their morning meal as the couple exchanged their vows.  What a day!

As we go to press, Jen and Nate are traveling in Europe on their honeymoon.  I am sure they will bring back many memories (and hopefully some pictures) of their experiences during these first days of married life together.

Lucas Phillian Graduates With Honors

We are so pleased to hear the news that our own Lucas Phillian has received not one, but two(!) degrees from Baldwin Wallace College. Many of us remember Lucas as a "high energy" child running between the pews in his younger days!  What a joy to hear of the recent news.

Lucas has received his Bachelor of Arts undergraduate degree with a major in accounting.  He has also received a Master of Business Administration degree with an emphasis in accounting.  He distinguished himself academically as a member of the Baldwin Wallace Honors Program and graduated Summa Cum Laude ("with highest honors").  Way to go!!  No time for rest, however, as he is busily about the business of preparing for the Certified Public Accountant (CPA) exam.  We, at Zion, couldn't be prouder!

Ruthwell Cross
Beth is Back!

Hello all! I am back from a glorious time in Scotland. Archie and I were able to spend some fun time with my youngest brother, Ed. Included in the trip was a visit to the Ruthwell Cross situated in Dumfires. The Celtic cross is over 800 years old!!
Dunkeld Cathedral

In addi
tion we toured Dunkeld Cathedral in Perthshire.  The bells were chiming as we walked the ancient nave and cloister!

Beth, sounds like a great trip but it sure is good to have you back!!
Congratulations Lorna!

We understand here at the Zmail there is big news in the Patterson household.  Lorna continues to add to her impressive singing and acting resume.

Lorna is one of only 3 fresmen to be chosen for the Hayes Singers for next year at Rutherford B. Hayes High School.  That is quite an honor.  She is currently actively engaged in rehearsals of Don Quixote which will be performed this summer.  Everyone at Zion says, "Well done!!"

Sharon, a very proud mother, shared her response to this news in a recent Facebook posting.  "Way to go, Punkie!!"

Broadway, here she comes!
Congratulations Hannah!

There is a reason Hannah is smiling!  She just graduated from Rutherford B. Hayes High School following sister Emily and dad Jon in that tradition.

No time off for this one.  She has already enrolled at Columbus State and is taking a composition class as she prepares for a full time academic load in the fall at Ohio University in Athens.

Hannah was active in Marching Band, Pit Orchestra and Concert Band during her time at Hayes.  Who knows what awaits at Ohio University?

Way to go Hannah!
Mobile Food Market Update

Team Zion continues to be a vital part of the team which presents important and meaningful mission to the Delaware community.  Our own Konrad Young was a moving force behind the implementation of the Mobile Food Market in Delaware.  His passion moved Zion to participate and support providing fresh food and produce to hungry families in Delaware.

During our first Monday in the Eagles parking lot many months ago, we provided extensive food supplies for 110 families.  Last Monday, we provided supplies for over 240 families!!  Brothers and sisters, there is a need for this service in Delaware!

Thank you people of Zion for your continued support of this meaningful program.  At the risk of omitting someone, we are going to try to list all of those who have given their time and spirit to this meaningful venture.

Andy, Erin and Will Meyer
Nancy Townley  -  Konrad Young
Kellye and David Powell
Sandy and Ally Lewis
Gail, Marty and Anthony Laubdernds
Emily, Melissa and Jon Peterson.

Thank you!!!

Jesus said "for I was hungry and you gave me food" (Matthew 25:35 NRSV).

We cannot think of any mission that children of God are engaged in that is more impactful than providing shelter and food.  We, at Zion, are deeply engaged in both.

God is Still Speaking at Zion!!

Transportation Ministry?

Please let us know if you are experiencing transportation challenges in your life or if you know of someone else who is.  Having a hard time getting to church on Sunday?  Is it difficult for you to get to the market to do some grocery shopping?  Need to get to the doctor and just don't have a way to get there?  We can help.

Let us know of your need or the need of others.  We will be surveying church members and others to help us determine needs which exist in the community.  We need your help!  Please see our Ministers of Mission (Donna, Nancy, Konrad or Mike) if you have information to share with us in this regard.  Thank you in advance for your thoughtful consideration of this request and for your assistance!!
