From the Council President...

Subsequent to the October 28th service, a Congregation Meeting was held to discuss fiscal and property issues.  At that time, two issues were voted on by the congregation.  The final tally of votes were as follows:

Reinstate Pastor Pete's Salary:  15-no 13-yes
(Pastor Pete ASKED the congregation NOT to
re-instate his salary due to a budget shortfall from the loss of income from the Arts Academy.)

Demolish Former Parsonage:  27-yes  4-No
(This will be at NO cost to Zion through the Delaware County Moving Ohio Forward Demolition Program.)

The contract to repair and repaint the sanctuary has been signed with work to commence after January 1, 2013.

Mission

Hurricane Sandy

As you know, a hurricane swept up the Atlantic coast of the United States, leaving a path of destruction and death across 17 states from the Carolinas to Maine. The UCC's National Disaster Ministries is working hard to assist those hit hard by the storm.  If you would like to contribute to those relief efforts, please include donations with your morning offering and note "Hurricane Sandy Relief Fund" on your check or envelope.  (Checks payable to Zion.)  Thank you.

People in Need

Zion is again "Adopting-A-Family" for Christmas this year through PIN.   Please see Carrie after worship if you would like to participate in purchasing an item for the family. Cash donations are appreciated too. (Please note Adopt-A-Family with your donation.)  Cash will be used for purchasing a grocery gift card for the family.  All wrapped gifts and donations need to be at Zion by Sunday, December 2.  Thank you.

Family Promise

Zion will be hosting Family Promise beginning
THIS SUNDAY, November 11 through November 18.  Let's show our guests an EXTRAVAGANT welcome!

Delaware Area Handbell Festival

The Zion Handbell Choir will again be participating in this annual event at Gray Chapel on Sunday, November 18th.  They will be playing "Ring We Now of Christmas", which is a clever mix of "Carol of the Bells"  and "Sing We Now of Christmas".  The ensemble has been working two and three rehearsals a week to prepare for the event, so plan to attend and show your support!  The performance starts at 7:00pm and will include a free-will offering to cover expenses of the event.

Thank you to Clear Run!

It was a blessing to have Clear Run share their musical gifts with us last Sunday!

Jan with granddaughter, Olivia, loving the music of Clear Run!
