Greetings!

Hey, do you want to do something you have never done before?
The next creative night will be this week Thursday, the 20th.  We will animate and play with kinetic typography. This event is open for whoever is curious and likes to explore something new.  I encourage not to limit yourself and do not want to hear the "I am not so creative" or "I can't draw"...Please rsvp quick as possible, seating is limited! This is going to be fun, tadah!

The Viva Design site is updated with some new animation and design projects from earlier this year for E! TV And Disney JR/Riverstreet productions. Please check it out!

This April I will talk again at the festival Lucidity about the topic "creativity":  Why is the creative spirit abundant in childhood, but seems to get lost in adulthood (more precisely in Highschool) you ever wonder ? Sir Ken Robinson's and Malcom Gladwell have some great observations about this.  We will talk about those and what inhibits creative outcome and what excels it.  I find it important to always challenge myself to be edgy, different, outrageous or silly... plus the biggest challenge to stay focused and stay unique. If you spend too much time checking out the competition you may eventually end up looking like them. And if you spend too much time with facebook, ...
well anyway, get on with it and come this thursday!

love. create. inspire.

Ulrike

PS: Please check out the beautiful animation at the kinetic vimeo channel, see below.

Creative Night at Viva Design in Downtown Santa Barbara

Vivakids is part of Viva Design studios, a lab and think tank where designers, artists and kids work together in multiple ways to express creativity.  We stimulate divergent thinking by using one topic at a time (for example the Alphabet) and generate many different ideas about the topic.
Kids learn the use of stopmotion animation as creative tool and an excellent exercise in persistence and staying in the moment.
Vivakids' DVDs and ipad apps are must-have learning tools for your thriving child today.
