PWN Welcomes
Setting Ourselves Up For Success
The beginning of every year is usually loaded with two thoughts in mind. The first: this is a great opportunity to begin my life with new and inspired change! The second? A series of doubts about how do I truly sustain and live into my goals and dreams. By the time March rolls around? Well, you probably know how this story often goes.
February's program will be a high-energy presentation designed to help us create conditions for success in overcoming cycles of self-sabotage. Especially with self-care: in what ways do we settle, survive, avoid, deny? What might become even more possible if we treated ourselves with as much devotion and TLC as we give to our clients, our family, and our best friends? And as our mood and vitality brighten, what differences might this make in our life and in our business?
Come enjoy a playful, energizing evening as we challenge our beliefs about profound self-care, to create a "top six" daily priority list of our natural sources of energy, and to identify support systems to help our actions match our intentions, one day at a time ~ with ease and grace.
A bit about our speaker, Desiree Phillips:
A gifted and passionate relationship coach and seminar leader, Desiree Phillips is a business owner, writer, teacher, mom, and wife. With over 25 years of experience in designing innovative seminars and coaching tools, her professional focus is in supporting women to set and achieve personal goals, and to create a more powerful and fulfilling future.
Beginning as a teenager, Desiree has been on a mission to discover how to make dreams come true. Her initial focus was on pursuing her own career dreams, and she became a successful model, actress, writer, and dancer. In the mid-80s she shifted her focus to youth, and designed a popular and still-thriving workshop series on self-esteem for teens.
In 2010 Desiree founded GirlfriendsWithGlow! to support women of all ages to achieve their full potential. She and her husband, Hans, co-lead BigLove, an innovative relationship-training program for powerful people seeking healthier relationships that lead to more successful and love-filled lives.
When she's not working? Desiree still dances - mostly in the morning sun on the beaches of Santa Cruz.

Clear Course Creation is an Instructional Design company that creates clear

What Is Instructional Design And
Why Should Anyone In Business Care?
Have you have ever been in a situation where you needed someone to understand a procedure, concept or skill so that they can utilize (and let's not forget - be happy to pay for) your product or services? If so, then you have been faced with an instructional design opportunity.
In a perfect world you would simply tell your customers what they need to know and voilą, they understand perfectly, see the value, eagerly pay you, and move along happily ever after telling everyone how wonderful you and your offerings are.
Here's the catch - as human beings, we all have unique ways of teaching, learning, recalling, and using information we give and receive.
Successful business people know that they must communicate with their customers in ways that get attention, evoke emotion, and encourage action.
The rules of Instructional Design demonstrate ways that you, as business people, can create methods of communicating your message in memorable and impactful ways.
The following are three instructional design tips to create a message that sticks:
- Design your message to accommodate different personality styles.
- Create innovative ways for customers to practice new information.
- Use the most appropriate media to convey information.
If you want to increase your income by mining the genius already in your head, email me at jenharty@clearcoursecreation.com for a complimentary strategy session.

Hello PWN Members,
Reach out, Connect and Engage is our collective vision for 2016.
February is the month of Love, and this vision is fitting. Celebrating Valentine's Day is a great opportunity to appreciate those around us. Reach out and we let people know we appreciate them. Connect and we let people know we value them. Engage with people and life becomes meaningful.
I remember my first PWN meeting. It was a Networking Lunch at Jack's in Portola plaza. I was nervous, but I knew I had to use the opportunity to reach out. By the end of the lunch, I had met a few new people. I collected cards and shared a few. I was so relieved when it was over.
Then the next month rolled around. I went back. I was still nervous, but knew I had to keep reaching out. I met a few more people and collected a few more cards.
The months rolled by. I kept going back. Then I realized that I had been member for a year. When I looked around the room at meetings, I found that I had a connection or relationship with and liked the people in the room. So I kept going back.
Now after four years, I look around the room at meetings and feel very blessed. I've hired and worked with many of our members. By persisting, the connections became engagement. Business grew and we have all flourished.
So it goes in PWN. Reach out, connect, and engage. A big thank you to all of our members.
See you in February.
