LIVE EVENT TIPS

It is always challenging for non-profit organizations to recruit the talent it needs for a special event, especially when it comes to event hosts as well as actors, musicians and others who may be required to enhance the scope and entertainment value of an event. Generally speaking, unless the talent (usually the host) is sponsored by a participating sponsor organization, it is customary to pay such people, which includes contracted producers, directors, production companies, musicians performing as part of the main event and other performers including actors, etc.  If money is an issue, as it usually is, then an option is to offer these specially skilled people an honorarium (cash) or a gift certificate of some reasonable value.  These certificates can be easily obtained via the sponsors already involved in the event or through sub-sponsors particularly solicited for the purpose of compensating talent or specially skilled individuals. Certainly, one can ask the talent to donate their services, but if they don't offer their services at the very beginning without being asked, then it would be more prudent to negotiate something that is mutually satisfactory.
