Community Living presented
the Community Living Award to
AXE Productions. The award
recognizes businesses and
individuals that promote the
concept and spirit of community
inclusion for people with
developmental disabilities.
Christian Kell has been a valuable addition to the AXE team, working with our staff in the production warehouse and small rentals, taking on every job with enthusiasm. We are all very proud of Christian's dedication and work ethic. The 20 year old wants to make a career in the production industry and, in his spare time, is an avid collector of cards.

SHANNON SOURAY
RUPERTSLAND INSTITUTE

Shannon Souray, the Co-
Executive Producer of the 2013
Alberta Aboriginal Youth
Achievement Awards, has
planned and executed several
large events such as the Annual
Ben Calf robe powwow which
attracts over 2500 Aboriginal
people across the nation.
Besides being a sought after
event planner and entertainer,
Shannon also runs a consulting
company that works with
industry, government and private
institutions.

She is also a singer songwriter and will be recording a demo
at AXE Productions.

LIVE EVENT TIP

TIP: Larger scale events need a
'showrunner', but often the event
manager tries to take on the
responsibility of coordinating all
the production aspects of a live
event. Not always the best
choice.  Event Managers will
often be tied up with VIPs and
other issues.  Consider hiring a
showrunner who knows how
to run the 'show' part of your
event. At AXE Productions, Kelly
Kimo and Michael Kryton often fill
this role.  They are the ones you
see with the head sets delivering
cues to video directors, senior
audio and lighting techs as well
as wranglers and stage hands.

TEN TENORS ARE A MUSICAL 10
AT THE WINSPEAR

10 TENORS 1

The Ten Tenors dazzled at the Winspear in February.  It was one of
the fastest set-ups for AXE Productions and the Winspear team
owing to a rehearsal also scheduled that day for the Edmonton
Symphony Orchestra.  Even with the short set-up window, the show
came off without a hitch.  (Photo by LIMAGES)
