Now that you have finished your spring cleaning, do your rooms still need something to help lift your spirits? For a quick change, here are a few tips you might want to try:
Remove or add Tiebacks to Draperies
Many of our homes today have long draperies or stationary panels that go all the way to the floor. Add a contrasting fabric or rope

tieback for a quick and easy change. Or do the opposite by removing tiebacks from pulled back panels and just let them hang straight.
Add a Valance or Decorative Rod
If you currently have draperies - what do you have above the draperies? Now might be a good time to consider a valance to extend across your window frame and add a whole new element, look and feel to your room. Or change the existing rod to a decorative iron rod to coordinate with other finishes in the room.
Raise the Room
Just where are your curtain rods and valances hanging? If they are too low - such as right above the frame of the window - this simply pulls your eyes down and makes the room feel smaller and heavier. For a quick change - raise those treatments! Often I install

treatments 5-10" above the window. If you want to raise your roof - raise your treatments! Of course this might require new window treatments so the length of your panels won't be too short.
Simply Add Window Treatments
Take a look around your rooms at all of the windows you have. Are you missing something? Today, window treatments are just another way to express your style. They can be formal, casual, modern, classic - you name it, a window treatment can do it. Nothing says "ah, this room is finished!" like a window treatment made just for you.
