March Programs and Events 

 

 

Anytime.  Swapping Puzzles.  Tired of your jigsaw puzzles?  Bring a puzzle in good condition, that has all its pieces, to the Children's desk to exchange it for a Swapping Puzzle.  This program began January 29th and will continue throughout the year.

 

Monday, March 4 - 9:30 a.m.  Wee Wiggler Toddler Time.  Especially for children 18-36 months with an adult. Stories and hands-on activities.  Registration is required.

Tuesday, March 5 - 7:00 p.m.  Pageturners Book Club.  We will be discussing The Happiness Project by Gretchen Rubin. Copies of the book will be available to borrow for those who register. To sign up, visit the Moline Public Library or call 309-524-2470. 

 

Thursday, March 7 - 10:00 a.m.  Preschool Story Time.  Stories, finger-plays, and hands-on activities for children ages 3-5 not yet in kindergarten.  Registration is  required. 

 

Monday, March 11 - 6:30 p.m.  St. Patrick's Day Craft.  Make something special for St. Patrick's Day!  For ages 6-10.  Registration is required. 

 

Monday, March 11 - 6:30 p.m.  Kind of Blue:  A Piano Tribute to Miles Davis.  Join us as we take you inside this musical masterpiece through interpretive performances and an interactive discussion of the album's style and contribution to the evolution of jazz.  An Illinois Humanities Rhode Scholar Program.

 

Wednesday, March 13 - 7:00 p.m.  Reader's Theater.  Join us for folk tales, fairy tales, and stories in script form read by young readers.  Call the library to be a reader.  No registration is required to be in the audience.

 

Thursday, March 14 - 10:00 a.m.  Preschool Story Time.  Stories, finger-plays, and hands-on activities for children ages 3-5 not yet in kindergarten.  Registration is required.

 

Wednesday, March 20 - 6:30 p.m.  Miss Julie Concert.  From Chicago, Miss Julie presents a high energy performance that is ideal for wiggly toddlers, preschoolers, and their families.  She's not afraid to be silly and will make sure everyone is having fun!  Registration is not required.

 

Thursday, March 21 - 10:00 a.m.  Stories, finger-plays, and hands-on activities for children ages 3-5 not yet in kindergarten.  Registration is required.

 

Thursday, March 21 - 6:30 p.m.  Building with Books Lego Club.  Build with Lego blocks and listen to stories.  Blocks are supplied.  For ages 6-12.  Registration is required.

 

Thursday, March 21 - 7:00 p.m.  Civil War Book Discussion Series. 

 

Monday, March 25 - 7:00 p.m.  Pajama Story Time.  Wear your p.j.'s and bring your favorite stuffed animal to hear new stories.  Bring the family and enjoy the fun!  Recommended for ages 4-8.  Registration is not required.

 

Wednesday, March 27 - 6:30 p.m.  Books on the Move!  An active story time program based on music, movement, and early literacy,  It is geared for "the young and the restless" (ages 4 and under)!

 

Wednesday, March 27 - 6:30 p.m. Club 42 Book Group.  Join us for discussions of life, the universe, and everything via speculative fiction (fantasy, sci-fi, horror, alternative history, etc.) reading.  Meetings held the 4th Wednesday of every month.
