The My Tech Guys family has grown a little more. We are happy to introduce, Brian Bailey aka "B2" our newest geek. Brian is our newest technician working on iPhones and computers, who has recently returned back to the Comox Valley from across the pond at London, England.

Learn how to protect yourself from malicious software, scams and identity theft.

Okay, so we had to pause our iPhone repairs when John, the Gaming Geek moved to the wild frontier of Calgary last November, but NOW we have Brian aka B2 on board and excited to be fixing iPhones.

So if you or anyone you know has a broken iPhone send them over to the Courtenay store on Cliffe Avenue to see B2 and get your broken iPhone repaired.

Most of us are familiar with the little pop-ups we get asking us to install updates.  While they only take a few minutes to complete, many of us are guilty of postponing them or just ignoring them completely. But keeping up with these computer updates is actually very important when it comes to having a healthy and secure computer. These updates are just as important as having an anti-virus program. Sometimes the automagic updates can fail so we suggest checking to make sure you have the latest versions of the following once a month. 

 Some of the most common updates are:

• Windows or Apple OS updates
• Java (Update to the latest (Version 7.21) 
• Adobe Acrobat Reader (Version 11.0.2)
• Adobe Flash Player (Version 11.7.700.169)
• Microsoft Office
• Simply Accounting / Quickbooks 
• iTunes
