St. Stephen's Weekly Touchstone
The Second Sunday of Advent
December 7, 2014

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT:

At last, the news we've been waiting for!  The Vestry of St. Stephen's has called The Rev. Nils Chittenden as our new rector, and he has accepted this call.

Nils and his wife Kelly will be coming to us from Durham, NC, where he is a Chaplain at Duke University. Nils hails from the UK, where he was brought up and ordained in the Church of England. He arrived in North Carolina five years ago from Durham, England.

Father Nils impressed the vestry and the Search Committee with his spiritual sense, his caring and compassionate manner, his new ideas and his determination to be part of the community.  He will join us as priest-in-charge in late January. We look forward to welcoming Nils and Kelly to St. Stephen's.

The Youth Group fund raiser on Frosty Day -- a Bake Sale to support biliary cancer research -- was a big success. With many holiday treats on offer, a total of $647 was raised. The proceeds will be donated to Memorial Sloan Kettering, earmarked for biliary cancer research. Many thanks to everyone who contributed to this successful effort.

Our youth prepared to march in the Frosty Parade...

...and carried our banner with pride.
