LIVERPOOL CATHEDRAL CHOIR VISIT

Americans have all heard of Liverpool for one big musical reason (or four.) But there's more than one type of fine music that comes from Liverpool.  The musical talents of the Turners of St. Stephen's extend into other branches of their family, and Daniel and Hester have two cousins who sing in the choir of the Liverpool Cathedral.

The Liverpool Cathedral, which vies with the Cathedral of Saint John the Divine in New York for the title of the world's largest Anglican church building, has a fine music program which includes six choral services a week.

The choir is about to embark on a week-long visit to the US with a number of events in New York City before they move on to Washington, DC.

For anyone who loves great church music, this visit will provide several opportunities to experience Anglican choral music at its best.

The choir, including the Turner cousins, will be singing in New York City on the following dates, after which they will be singing at various venues in Washing ton, DC, including the National Cathedral.

Sunday, October 26, 11:00am

Choral Eucharist - Saint Thomas Church, Fifth Avenue / 53rd Street

Sunday, October 26, 4:00pm

Tuesday, October 28, 1:00pm

Announcements at St. Stephen's Church

NO SATURDAY SERVICE ON NOVEMBER 1: Our Saturday evening service for November 1 is cancelled. Please join us at 10 am on Sunday, November 2 that week. That Sunday is the day when Daylight Savings Time ends, and it's always fun to work out the kinks of new clock settings with a Sunday morning test.

FOOD PANTRY:   Our next date to staff the Food Pantry is October 28 from 4:45 to 7 pm at the Methodist Church in Mount Kisco, 300 East Main Street.  If you can volunteer on that date please email Laura Desmarais at [email protected]. It's a great way to serve the community while working alongside fellow parishioners.
We continue to collect donations of canned tuna, low sodium soup, healthy cereal and peanut butter in the bin located in the Parish Hall lobby.

FRIENDSHIP SUPPER: We will hold a Friendship Supper at the home of Laura and John Desmarais on Friday, November 14 at 7 pm. This pot luck dinner is a wonderful chance to get to know fellow parishioners in a relaxed environment. Please let Laura Johnson know at [email protected] how many are coming and what you will bring: appetizer, side dish, main course, beverage or dessert.  Children are welcome.

OUTREACH COMMITTEE: Our Outreach Committee meeting will be held after coffee hour on Sunday, November 23. At this meeting the committee decides how to distribute funds to local charities. New participants are welcome. If anyone would like to join the group, please email Laura Desmarais at [email protected] . Our commitment to outreach is fundamental to St. Stephen's, and we look forward to this event.
