Seeking Altar Guild members

Serving on the St. Stephen's Altar Guild is a wonderful way to serve the church for those who prefer to operate behind the scenes. (Apparently not everyone likes to read aloud in church!) On a rotating basis, each week an assigned member prepares the linens, the altar, and the vessels. The time commitment is small, and the work can be done on your schedule during the week.

Rev. Lynn has offered to teach newcomers the ropes, and we have an illustrated book to follow, should anyone need reminding.

You may speak to Tina Wolf, Annlee Milani, Shirley Kaiser or Rev.Lynn to learn more about this important ministry.

Weekly Images:

We are so happy to see our parishioner Daniel back on the pitcher's mound, doing what he loves, after a year of intensive treatment for leukemia. Though maintenance treatment continues for two more years, Daniel is back in school and is working on restoring his excellent pitching arm to its former strength.

Announcements at St. Stephen's Church

FOOD PANTRY: Our next date to staff the Mount Kisco Interfaith Food Pantry is Tuesday, September 30 from 4:45 to 7 pm at the Methodist Church in Mount Kisco, 300 East Main Street.  If you can volunteer on that date, please email Laura Desmarais at [email protected]. It's a great way to work alongside fellow parishioners while serving our neighbors in need. We are also collecting donations of canned tuna, low sodium soup, healthy cereal and peanut butter in the bin located in the Parish Hall lobby.

THE BLESSING OF THE ANIMALS: This year's Blessing of the Animals will take place on Sunday, October 5. The Blessing takes place after the service at 11:30 on the front steps. Pets large and small are welcome, as well as stuffed animals!

FRIENDSHIP SUPPER: We will hold a Friendship Supper at the home of Laura and John Desmarais, 26 Deer Creek Lane in Mount Kisco, on Friday, November 14 at 7 pm. This pot luck dinner is a wonderful chance to get to know fellow parishioners in a relaxed environment. Please let Laura Johnson know at [email protected] how many are coming and what you will bring: appetizer, side dish, main course, beverage or dessert.  Children are welcome.

SCHOOL SUPPLIES: It's not too late to add to our collection of school supplies for the Chiro Mission in the Dominican Republic. The Haitian refugee students in these schools receive no school funding, so rely on these contributions. Pads, pens, pencils, crayons, etc. are all appreciated.
