Plant Sale at St. Stephen's, September 28

St. Stephen's is planning a plant sale on  September 28, to coincide with this year's Armonk Outdoor Art Show. Ruth Clausen, our resident horticulturalist, is already lining up plants from her contacts across the gardening world.  She expects to have tables of large mums, Japanese anemones. lilyturf, arranged containers of houseplants and hardy foliage plants. For indoors we expect to sell cut dried hydrangeas, potted flowering plants, grapevine wreaths and plant rarities.

We will hold a Bake Sale alongside, and are requesting donations from all bakers. We expect to sell jellies, jams, relishes, local honey and garlic braids alongside the baked goods.

Treasures will also participate, with some outdoor racks to attract attention, as well as a table of suitable items for gifts.

Our community welcomes many visitors on the weekend of the Armonk Outdoor Art Show, and we hope for participation in this community event from all, parishioners, confirmation class, Sunday schoolers, and friends.  Ruth will head the Plant Sale, Charity Lunder will head the Bake Sale, and Linda Ranieri will organize the Treasures group.  Please contact us or we'll be calling you!

 Weekly Images:

While Sharon Kane was on a business trip to Florida, Petrie and Logan Verma came along to enjoy Disney World.

Mom might feel nauseated, but Logan enjoyed every minute of the famous Tea Cup ride.

Hester and a friend were thrilled to meet Ross Lynch. He plays Austin, a pop star in the TV show "Austin and Ally".

Announcements at St. Stephen's Church

COLLECTING SCHOOL SUPPLIES: As you head out to stock up on school supplies, remember  the church's collection for the Chiro Mission in the Dominican Republic. Most of the students are Haitian refugees and they receive no government support for education. The Chiro Mission supports the schools and brings the teachers.  But essential school supplies are scarce; they can use pens, pencils, notebooks, pads, used computers and any other school supplies. This is our fourth year supporting this important outreach.

VESTRY MEETING:  There will be a vestry meeting held at the church on Tuesday 13 August at 7:30. The agenda will cover Armonk Square, Mariani zoning changes, the Search Committee and planning for fall events. Parish members are welcome to attend.
